Re: Favorite team make the championship and lose or finish in last place?
As a fan of teams that frequently do both...ugh...idk...getting the #1 pick hurts a lot less.
But making the championship game and losing means more.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Favorite team make the championship and lose or finish in last place?
I'm not voting, but I think it really depends on the sport. It takes longer to build up a losing team in baseball than it does in football or especially basketball.
Three years of 1st picks in the draft and you can already make it into the NBA playoffs.
About 5 years of picks in the NFL, look at the Lions. (But then look at the Rams.)
Usually it takes over 10 years to rebuild in MLB. Look at the Pirates, Reds, Rays, O's, Royals, Cardinals (87-2000), etc.
I'm pretty sure they were also up 3-1 in the series.

It's much, much, much better to experience some success than none at all.Comment

Trust me, as a Bills fan i'd rather see them go to 4 SBs and lose progressively worse each year instead of the crap we've gotten from them for a decade+.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

As a Detroit Lions/Texas Rangers fan I'd say make the Championship. Even though it ****ing sucks to lose it twice in a row (can't imagine how Bills fans feel) it's better than the dreadful seasons I've had to watch in my favorite sport.
Would you rather have your favorite team finish .500 or come in last place.
Both scenarios almost always guarantee you miss the playoffs. Finishing .500 as a fan you can enjoy winning some games. With last place you get the first round pick or the odds to receive it are heavily in your favor.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

I always want my teams to be the best. While this year didn't end as well as last year for the Packers, I'd always take this year over the 4-12 season a few years back. Same with Clemson, despite the *** kicking WV gave them, seeing them in the Orange Bowl was far better than the Humanitarian Bowl days.Comment

Make championship and lose. Why would anyone want to finish in last place?

None taken. I mainly made it to make sure that the majority of OS was rational, unlike the majority of my friends and the few posters I've seen who would vote for last place.Follow me on Twitter: @ADice15Comment
