I'd never been there before, I walked in and the guy behind the counter was just super friendly guy. Saw I was wearing a Minnesota hockey shirt, and talked about the team for a bit. Also "made fun of me" for wearing an Arctic Cat snowmobile jacket, because he rides Polaris. Then we talked about snowmobiling and hockey for damn near 10 minutes (there was nobody in line behind me).

He goes to make my drink and says "You won't mind if I put an extra shot of espresso in there for no charge, right?"

I don't care if it sounds cheesy, that dude made my day! Nice to encounter such friendly people every once in a while. I gave him a healthy tip and will definitely go back there instead of going to Starbucks/Caribou.

This is the most Minnesota thing I've ever read on the internet.

Don't post much any more, but finding out my wife is pregnant with our second after 20 months of trying and fertility treatments. It's a high risk pregnancy, but it's still exciting. Plus the child would be due around my birthday. What a gift!

Having my 8-month old daughter wake me up at 4am. As I drag my butt out of bed, with little to no energy, I open her door and am greeted with a 10-mile wide smile that could light up NY.
What a great way to start the day.

Relaxing and falling asleep to ASMR videos. If you don't know what it is, here's a tidbit from Wikipedia:

Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli. The nature and classification of the ASMR phenomenon is controversial. Tom Stafford, a professor at the University of Sheffield, says, "It might well be a real thing, but it's inherently difficult to research."
