    Re: Worst in the World

From the attendance and apathy side of things Miami probably wins out but form the actual team performance and how it affects the sports city I think it's a toss up between Toronto and Cleveland, Cleveland moreso for the historical context but right now I have to say Toronto is probably one of the most miserable sports cities to live in and the apathy towards some of the teams is starting to erode attendance to the point that there needs to be a winner ASAP.

The only bright spot in this city are the Blue Jays and that's mainly due to the promise of something good rather than anything substantive. That'll change if they grab the 2nd wild card this year.

      Why is Seattle not involved?

Sonics have been gone for a while but Seattle has to watch OKC destroy everyone and be in the WCF and maybe even more.

Mariners are pretty damn bad, and have been for a while despite the flood of talent starting to come in.

Seahawks had a fall from grace after the Super Bowl debacle and until a bit of a run towards the end of last season, generally worthless.

Sounders help them quite a bit, as they're one of the best MLS franchises.

Because they only have 2 of the 4 major sports represented. Only cities with 3 are eligible.

ya...but that whole Sonics thing has to count for something.

Ya, that's what was said in the OP.

If it was worst cities including ones with 2 teams, then the list would be much bigger. To really be considered a "sports city" you have to have teams in multiple sports. 2 still doesn't seem like enough.

Like Seattle, now nobody would really see it as a sports city. Instead it really like a football(both versions)/baseball city.

Same with Milwaukee. Not really considered a sports city. Brewers/Bucks is it.

But when you think of another city like Philly, or Atlanta or Miami. You'd think of sports cities.

                  Re: Worst in the World

I mean, the Cavs are bad, but at least they have Kyrie Irving and another top 5 pick coming up.

The Browns drafted Trent Richardson, so maybe there is some hope there.

The Indians are in 1st in the ALCentral.

For this year, we aren't terrible. Historically, sure, go ahead.

No offense, but I think a lot of people did that. Its cool to hate Cleveland.

Nah, Cleveland has just been historically bad and it is hard to get past that. No need to take it personally, I for one am surprised that Carolina didnt get more votes.

By the way, Toronto has got to be the darkhorse in this thread. Leafs have sucked for a while, Raptors haven't been relevant since Carter, and the Blue Jays are decent but the best they can manage at the moment is what, 2nd?

                        That's rough.

I dont get the Cleveland votes at all. Everyone of their teams is terrible but they have some of the best (or maybe passionate) fans out there.

I didnt think the team performances made the city bad. Fanbase should weigh in most imo.

Totally agree, except the Indians are pretty good.

Yeah, and has been so close so many times only to fail.

Its maddening being a Cleveland fan. But we are definitely some of the most passionate fans in sports.
