is that gal afraid of pickles or cucumbers? Those things didn't look like they've been pickled yet. She needs to get her phobia straight.

Heights. I won't even go more than 2 or 3 steps up a ladder.

Snakes. Even if they're behind glass at an exhibit, I won't get closer than 20 feet to them. Can't even stand to look at cartoon ones in my son's books.

Tight spaces, especially in cars. Lately this one has gotten even worse. I can't ride in the backseat of a car anymore, and can't ride long distances in the passenger seat. I'm fine if I'm driving, but I will panic if I'm in the passenger seat going a long distance and there isn't anywhere to pull over and get out.

You have no idea how hard it was for me to take this photo...and I don't know why either. It's not like you're going anywhere. But man it was difficult.

              Agoraphobia, anthropophobia, telephobia.

I'm also afraid of bees and bears but those were never "officially diagnosed" so idunno if they count.

So my blood sugar was probably jacked, plus I was soooo nervous when they drew the blood. I then proceeded to pass out for 5ish seconds lol

Now I can give it for tests pretty easily, and I've actually donated blood to a blood drive. However, when I even just start to think about it my heart rate increases and I feel all anxious and crappy.

I do it when I need to, but otherwise I prefer to keep my blood inside my body.

To be honest I don't really have a phobia that i know of. I do get scared of scorpions but I can kill them, same with black widows. I'll go put on some armor on though from head to toe because I think they are like spiderman and can jump and find that open area to sting or bite.

No joke though I had a co worker who was scared of clowns. Someone sent him an email or something where a picture of a clown blew up on his screen and he literally punched the screen and threw it against the wall and tucked himself under the desk. It was so wild because if you saw him you would have thought he was a tough guy all tattooed up. He actually is but not around clowns.

I could never live in Arizona. My sister went to school there and one day she went to put on jeans and there was a scorpion in the pant leg. Luckily it didn't sting her. They also think her dog was stung because she got really sick for about a week and had a mark on her side. Never did confirm it. The dog is fine though.

yeah the bugs here are dangerous. I'm from Alaska originally so you only have to worry about mosquitos and bees.

But I rather take on a scorpion over a bear or a moose any day. Got chased by a moose once and that was probably the most exhilarating/scariest moment of my life. Don't have a moose phobia but if you don't GTFO when one is charging you, then you got something wrong with you.

The only phobias I have are of spiders (especially the hairy ones), or just weird bugs and ****

But I don't think it's as bad as some of the people in the thread, because I can look at pictures and all that 100% fine, I just get scared as balls of killing them, so normally I just leave wherever they are and let them disappear...

See this one is crazy to me. Maybe it is because of the job I'm in (outside sales for medical industry) because all I do is talk to and interact with new people daily. I'm extremely comfortable walking up to a stranger and getting to know them. Part of it to me is being extremely confident in yourself, but I guess that is sales in general.

I'm not insinuating you don't have confidence, I'm just going by my experience that if I feel uneasy about the way I'm dressed or how I look a certain day then it is harder interacting with strangers. If I feel good and feel like I look good I can walk up to anyone no issue & strike up a conversation.

So while I can't wrap my head around it, because I deal with new people daily. I do also surround myself with a close knit group of friends rather than having a crap ton of "friends" which in reality are only acquaintances.

I don't know how you do it man, but my advice to you would be to work on it every day forcing yourself out your comfort zone when interacting with people. You will miss out on some of the treasure it is to be alive. We are social creatures, it feels good to interact with others!

I'm with you and completely understand. It's not as simple as people think. I go so far out of my way to avoid contact with people. Before I take my dog for his walk I check out the windows and observe who is outside and plan a route before I even step out of the apartment. I have to make sure the maintenance dudes aren't in the parking lot, have to make sure the talkative guy in the opposite building isn't on his balcony grabbing a smoke because he'll definitely try and talk to me, and just make sure in general no one is around.
