Re: Hostess going out of business
Doesn't matter if it was your intent or not. It's a fact. You can't just separate it out. It's like having a discussion about bowling, but I don't want to get into that stuff about gutters.Comment

It fascinates me the way people talk out of both sides of their mouths (not talking about anybody in here).

Re: Hostess going out of business
WTF are you talking about? Interstate Bakeries changed it's name to Hostess Brands a couple of years ago, there is no more Insterstate Bakeries to want to shut anything down.
BTW, the Teamsters blame the Bakers union for getting Hostess shut down. That's another union saying a union went wrong here.
It was Interstate when I was in the bakery business quite some time ago.(Best Foods). I didn't really feel the need to have the absolute up to date name.
Whatever the name might be...the parent company(is that better) has been looking to lop off the Wonder line for some time. The same with the Hostess line.(and perhaps Drakes as well)...but only if they could gut it to make it more attractive to perspective buyers.
Step one in place.
...and do you think pitting one union vs. another is something that hasn't been done already?
Who shut it down.
The Bakers
The Drivers
The Parent Company.
My point is....it is not one union that lead to this as most news outlets and Hostess would have you believe.

Re: Hostess going out of business
Can't believe we're losing Twinkies. Question here on a topic I'm not too familiar with as it relates to unions and how the work in various states (even though I was in one with UPS back in early 90's during a strike even where I learned a lot on the ugly side of Unions, but that's another story). I live in Texas where you can get fired for any reason basically. Why doesn't Hostess just let the union folks go and bring in new folks and get rid of the unions completely so they can pay jobs in a way they can stay in business?Comment

Tempers gone haywire in here.
Anyway...
Did y'all see Twinkies going for $150/box on Anazon? Lol. I guess had my last one.

Re: Hostess going out of business
That's nothing, I seen Ding Dongs going for a $1,000 a box on Ebay. And most boxes of Twinkies going for $300 to $600 a box on Ebay. Over 28,000 Hostess items being sold on Ebay today.Comment

THERE IS NO PARENT COMPANY, Hostess Brands is a private company and the only people who will get anything from the sales is likely to just be secured creditors. The current equity holder for Hostess is Ripplewood and they are going to most likely lose every bit of the $130 million they put into the company to gain that equity during the last bankruptcy. Let me repeat that, the same people who chose to shut Hostess down are set to lose $130 million because of it.
Maybe you should educate yourself before speaking about something of which you are ignorant.
Get over yourself.

If you have one, you should hold on to it for a few years and watch it mature. Ain't like the Twinkies are gonna spoil.Comment
