I wish the gunman didn't kill himself. All I want for him is to be tortured in the sickest way possible for the rest of his life.

This is where I am. I understand that we're a civilized country and all that, but how can you not make exceptions for people like this?

Every time I read about the kids wanting Christmas or how this was less than two weeks before Christmas, I think about the parents who bought their kids presents for Christmas and now don't have a child to give them to.

That just breaks my heart.

It just makes me think of the innocence of the children when that's all they want.

I just went grocery shopping not an hour ago, and as I was grabbing a cart a mother was walking inside the doors with two of her children, looking about four and six years old. The littler one said something like: "It's half past seven!" and the mother was excited saying, "Very good, Alex!"

I almost wept a tear. These were the kinds of children who were shot today, and these were the kinds of children who witnessed this traumatizing event. They don't deserve this, much less at such a young age.

We are not that civilized. Man is still doing the same crazy things that he did 2000 years ago. The only thing that has changed is our technology. Nothing new under the sun. I'm pro public hangings. My thoughts, and prayers are with the families.

Like I've said for every time something tragic has happened: Pride kills. In one way or another, it does.

Say your prayers for the families, the kids, the law enforcement that had to bare witness - but leave it at that. That is all you can; and should do.

I get what you mean, but when something like this happens it breeds anger. Even in totally rational humans.

Its our nature to want to punish those who hurt us.

I'm not saying its ok to do this stuff at all. I am just saying this is why people feel this way.

This is the worst kind of tragedy possible and I still can't wrap my mind around why he choice to hurt children. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this tragedy and the perpetrator's brother and father. They lost a wife/mother and must live with the burden of their son/brother's sick and selfish act.

We as a society need to really look at how we view mental health, yet being mentally ill is never an excuse for harming other innocent lives. I'm just so saddened and sickened, right now.

Man, I wish I could say a "well, the world is gonna end" joke, but I feel like its not good. So, I'll just say a RIP to the people involved and I have a feeling someone in the Internet is gonna set something up for everyone to pitch in and show support, I would do it, but I'm a minor. It's just weird that this week, all I've been hearing is Guns. I live in the Portland Area (notice my avatar?) and first a Mall Shooting kills 2 and mall is closed until today (I've went to that mall a lot....) Then my rival schools had to be in Lockdown (a high school that I'm currently rivals with, a middle school, and 3 elementary schools) because they found a gun in the high school, which was stolen and was attempted to be sold. And now this, the ugliest topping to the worst possible ice cream in the world that no one wants. 28 dead, 18 or so kids, Elementary Schools, 11 Days before Christmas, and Parents. I been praying and praying for safety all my life, not out loud, but thoughts of safety not just for me, but everyone. What happened in the past 4 days of my life further proves that the world, any where you go, it's NEVER EVER safe. RIP to those who died (except for the killers) and I really really hope those families effect and have a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.
