It's not just Connecticut, man. This whole country and beyond hurts from this. We, as a nation, are reeling from this. B/c as a parent, you think "My God what if that was my kid?" Even if you don't have kids you think that.

That said, I didn't lose my child in a senseless act. I have no connection what so ever to the New England area, and I caught myself in just a well of tears at times yesterday. Those affected lives have changed forever, and not for the better.

Police had a brief press conference. Not a lot of information but they did say that the one person who was injured is doing well. And they confirmed the shooter forcibly entered the school, wasn't let in.

They should be releasing names later in the day and the superintendent will be speaking today.

I think they did all they could. The guy was just determined that he was going to do this, and if someone wants something bad enough, they will make it happen.

If someone is willing to give up their life, to take someone elses, there is nothing you can do to prevent it.

I'm on my phone. I wasn't sure if it went through or not or if someone took it down. I'll take it down

At any rate, it's part of the discussion

It is definitely part of the discussion. It just won't be part of the discussion here.

Because the moderators made a decision to disallow any discussion of gun laws in this thread.

The topic borders on politics - it will inevitably go there - and politics are not allowed on this board.

If you disagree, I'm sorry. You will have to trust our experience in what things are red flags for discussion on the forums.

I just...I don't know. I really have no comment about the particular story of this kid. I read the first sentence and decided I don't care.

I feel people always say: "You know what, I did sense something was wrong with him," just after the person does something terribly wrong.

I really don't care what other people think of the guy's past. It almost feels like a "hey, look at me, I saw something other people didn't."

Congratulations. If you truly did, perhaps you also feel responsible now for his act. Oh, you don't? Then stop talking.

Yea, there are going to be a lot of people that try to interject their 2 cents in this case to cash in on the media blitz.
