I think that's too much. They're not asking kids to describe the scene like you'd see it in Call Of Duty. Most of the testimonies I've heard from the kids where just about the gunshots or about them taking shelter and weren't too graphic, and the kids themselves didn't look like they were struggling with the answers.

Like it or not, the kids are eyewitness sources, and that's what you have to go by. Nobody said you had to watch the coverage. Twitter supplies details as they go along.

There are a lot of reports going around about the shooter's family. Has anything been confirmed?

I've heard that his mother's body was found in his home and his father was found elsewhere.

**** man, the media needs to stop trying to be the first to report things and get their facts correct first. Some poor kid's Facebook page has been posted on major nation media webpages claiming he was the shooter. Incorrectly.

This is just unbelievable. I don't even know what to say.... How do we
keep this from happening again? Metal detectors, armed guards, classrooms locked at all times? It all seems useless when you're dealing with a crazy mother****** with a death wish/vendetta.

With the way the world is today, I don't think that I should even consider having kids. As a parent, I don't think that I could deal with something like this.

So this guy had something against his parents, so he takes his dad out at home and then goes to his mom's work place to kill her and then affect 29 other lives in the process? What a POS.....as bad as this sounds, couldn't he just wait for his mom to get home if he was going to kill her than taking out innocent children that couldn't defend themselves.

I imagine parents already have a hard enough time when their kids leave to begin school, but like say the Batman incident it's going create worry about something that really shouldn't be.

While there are plenty of ways to quell these problems in the US I believe unfortunately there will always be this one crazy person.

That would break all types of fire safety codes I'm sure.

It's one thing for this to happen at the workplace where grown men can overpower a gunman. It's another when it's at a school filled with (mainly) women and children

I'm watching MSNBC...and I'm watching this guy interview this 8 year old who's hours removes from what will probably be the most traumatic event in his innocent life. Asking him to re-tell the story step by step and interviewing him like this is a damn press conference.

Unbelievable. There's a time and a place and this is not the damn time. Do we really need to hear an 8 year old struggle to describe the horrific events they witnessed ? What purpose does this serve ?

Prayers to the families of the victims and RIP to the victims. They are the priority, everything is a distant second at this point.

Not locked both ways, just so no one random can come in. Maybe install fire escape doors that only open from the inside.

Either way, it is depressing that in that scenario, a school day would always be under a code red.
