Re: Elementary School Shooting in Connecticut
I think that's too much. They're not asking kids to describe the scene like you'd see it in Call Of Duty. Most of the testimonies I've heard from the kids where just about the gunshots or about them taking shelter and weren't too graphic, and the kids themselves didn't look like they were struggling with the answers.
Like it or not, the kids are eyewitness sources, and that's what you have to go by. Nobody said you had to watch the coverage. Twitter supplies details as they go along.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Elementary School Shooting in Connecticut
How about a simple "buzz to get in" system for the building? That way any visitors could be sent through the office as a filter before anybody could get anywhere close to a kid. Guy looks shady, you hit a button to get a cop there and don't buzz him in. Buzz a guy in and he seems shady, the secretary calmly leaves the room then hits a lockdown button.Comment

Re: Elementary School Shooting in Connecticut
Again, children, constantly leaving to go to the office and the bathroom. It's just impractical. Not only that, most schools are on a budget crunch, and this one school in a small town doesn't appear to be rolling in the black. And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

Re: Elementary School Shooting in Connecticut
Unfortunately if this shooter was a son of a teacher at the school then he probably was not seen as suspicious unless he just barged in(Idk there policies/entrances in regards to walking in) or was waving a gun around in which case there should have been a lockdown.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Understand your points, but given this black eye on all of humanity, how impractical is too impractical, and how much $ is too much?EXPERIENCE MAYHEM FOOTBALLComment

But as Motown just pointed out. His mother was a teacher there. So no one thought it was concerning.Comment

Re: Elementary School Shooting in Connecticut
I don't see why not, I remember many classrooms over the years where the doors were locked at all times. It was kind of up to the teacher's discretion, lock the door (door always able to be opened from inside, locked from outside) or don't lock it. It didn't seem disruptive, in fact looking back they were the classrooms least likely to be disrupted.Comment
