Based on my experiences of how long it takes to buy a car even when all conditions are great, it's hard to imagine selling more than two cars to different customers in one work day.

When I got my new car last August, I had a salesmen that my boss referred me to who also is the owner's son, I knew exactly what I wanted, did a test drive, said that's the one I want and got down to the paperwork (with solid credit and no back and forths w/management) and he sent me on my way. First thing on a Saturday morning, was there at 8:30am and gone by 1:30pm. Wow.

It goes a lot faster when you pay in cash. Once I found the one I wanted, I test drove it, was pretty happy, still had to sit awhile to take care of stuff, but since I paid right then they were more than happy to keep the ball rolling.

For those of you who know the job situation from the other thread, here's a little update:

My general manage was down at the GM conference and spoke to my regional manager (the guy who would hire me), who seemed receptive to the idea and then went and talked to another GM from the store where I'd end up and do my training.

I was told I'd receive something in the next day or two to get things in motion and see if me being a restaurant manager would work out. It'd actually be a paycut (most likely) from serving/bartending, but it looks much better on resumes and my sister's boyfriend wants to open a restaurant for the family, so it'd be real good experience if I got involved with that.

So.......once again, Beantown moving ends with a plot twist. I think it is a sign you were meant to stay in Mass. Every time you think about moving, a plot twist happens. I remember last year when you were going to be roommates with Marino down in NC.

So.......once again, Beantown moving ends with a plot twist. I think it is a sign you were meant to stay in Mass. Every time you think about moving, a plot twist happens. I remember last year when you were going to be roommates with Marino down in NC.

Yup. Last time I was going to move I met my ex and fell in love with her.

This time I break up with her, want to move, and now have a chance to get a real job and real experience in a field I enjoy.

It's definitely crazy.

Well Beantown when you blow up with the family restaurant and become famous, I want a sandwich named after me, call it the GMSS burger. Triple patties, swiss cheese, brown mustard, crispy bacon, no nasty mayo and pickles, then make it come with a side of cheese fries.

Speaking of job stuff, Janitor Jesse is only a thing for 2 more days.

One of my co-workers baked me a **** ton of cookies today as a going away present.

Apparently my disdain for everything about that job has not been nearly as transparent for the last two years as I thought it has been.
