5 days/45-50 hrs, except for tax season.

We're closed every Sunday and most managers take Wednesday off.

We're open 8-8 during tax season, but 10-8 the reast of the year and even the managers work a regular 8 1/2 hour shift. For them, it's not even that tough of a job.

You must be at a special dealership lol...here in NJ these guys work 5-6 days, and putting in at least 60 hours a week.

We all bust *** during tax season, though. We'll be here 'til 10 and 11 some nights. The money is good though.

Lots of downtime working at a car dealership. Unless you're a tech, lot boy or work recon.

Great place to work if you're making money. You'll meet some interesting characters too. lol

Pretty much every car dealership out here is family owned.....Their turn over rate for workers is sky high for sales people.

I had the choice of working for PWC or the small CPA firm I'm at now. The reason I went small is because I still need time to get my CPA and such. I'm making the same, if not a little more, than people I graduated with and they're putting in WOOORK. We have a few people for PWC/EY and they were lucky if they got home at 10 without bringing work home...I just can't do that.

I wanted to do PWC for 2-3 years just for my resume so I guess once the CPA is down, I may have to bite the bullet.

I'd much prefer to work 40-50 hours and making what I make now the rest of my life than work crazy hours and make double.

Meh. They can have the money. I like my time and all I want to gain from a career is enough to save for a comfortable retirement and enough to live on without being too extravagant. Those big firms try to sucker in the graduates and I wasn't having any of it.

My boss just called me and said whenever I come back to work I need to have a letter or something from my doctor that says I'm healed and am able to come back to work.

That really blows because now I have to wait until a doctor says I'm fine. And knowing them.. they'll probably wait until I am absolutely 100% and at no risk of further damage. Even though I could probably come back to work in a week and be OK.

Oh well.

I'm currently following the most epic girl vs girl status argument....the amount of ridiculousness involved is incredible. Very entertaining. I've never read something so insanely hilarious. Apparently arguing over a 'broke' guy with 2 different baby mothers....splendid.

Where you live makes a HUUUUGE difference. 8.50 in the middle of WV would go a lot further than 9.50 in Northern NJ. Are either enough to have a comfortable living? HELLLL NOOO, but you can get by.

That's still not good. I was making $10.75 working overnight at Christmas Tree Shops in 2009.

He should be seeing at least $9, plus more for being there so long in raises.

It's tough to look for a job when you have one, but enough is enough too. Work your connections as far as friends and family go. Don't limit yourself to just similar positions. Or maybe go with working two jobs. Been doing it since September. Work about 20-25 hours one place, and 15-20 at the other. Doesn't feel like I'm at either place too much. Yeah the days of working 8-3 one place, then 4-9 at the other spot eats a day of your life away but once you get through one shift, the second is just cake.

Ordered a couple shirts from Macy's with some gift cards I'd gotten and was expecting one of them today (they apparently shipped different stores, on near Cleveland and one on Long Island). I was doing some cleaning and had been running the vacuum when the delivery guy apparently called from the intercom at the entrance to my building (they sometimes do that even if no signature is required) and I missed the call. I saw the missed call when I finished with the vacuum and checked my phone and figured they'd just left it either by my mailbox or on a ledge inside the entrance gate so I went out to look for it and found a failed delivery slip. They required a signature . . . for a shirt . . . seriously?
