So the TSA is going to allow small knives on planes. Sounds like a fantastic idea.

UF researchers: MEGA mosquitoes may be coming to FL
Entomologists at the University of Florida say the mosquitoes are 20 times the size of a typical mosquito, about the size of a quarter. They also pack a painful bite, according to UF entomologist Phil Kaufman. He calls the species "notoriously aggressive".
Gallinippers were spotted last year in Florida after Tropical Storm Debbie doused the state, but scientists predict they'll make an appearance again this summer.
"Most people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them"Comment

Nathan Bibeau of Lewiston, Maine said he made an unsettling discovery during his son Cayden’s 2nd birthday celebration. After the toddler blew out the candles, his Elmo-themed cake was cut and four pieces in, he found a paring knife inside the dessert. So the party was paused and Bibeau called the Auburn Walmart bakery where he purchased the cake to inform them. As reported by WGME 13, Walmart spokeswoman Kayla Whaling said, "This should not have happened. We're thankful no one was hurt and sincerely apologize to our customers for their experience. We are reaching out to the family to resolve this." Whaling also told WGME that Walmart is taking actions to prevent this from happening again and are eliminating the use of that particular knife in their bakeries across the country. Bibeau confirmed that Walmart offered him a refund and called to rectify the situation. While the father says he understands that mistakes can happen and will still shop at Walmart, he has contacted a lawyer and is considering legal action.Comment

Oh Walmart......Thank goodness nobody shoved the kid's face into the cake or no kid tried to scoop a hand full of cake trying to get some frosting left on the pan.

Ah, The Sun.
It is weird to shell out about $3,000 on a fake ceremony. At least it isn't a legal marriage.Comment

Re: News that make you say WTF?
Kim Kardashian is no stranger to beauty treatments but she may have taken vanity to a whole new level on Sunday's episode of "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami" by getting a blood facial.
A blood facial.
Kardashian dragged her best friend, television personality Jonathan Cheban to the office visit where she had the procedure done. "I love trying anything that makes you look and feel youthful," she said.
Here's how it worked: A technician drew blood from Kardashian's arm, then spun it in a machine to remove the platelets (a substance that forms clots to prevent bleeding). He smoothed numbing cream on her face, splattered it with the blood, and ran a contraption of nine little motorized acupuncture needles across her face. For her part, Kardashian whimpered, "Oh my God. I will never get a facelift if it feels like that."
The blood facial is kinder, gentler version of the "vampire facelift" a.k.a., Selphyl, a popular treatment in 2009 where blood is re-injected into the face to stimulate collagen production. While the effectiveness of that procedure is largely unknown, some doctors say fillers taken from one’s body are less likely to cause irregularities and bumps in thin-skinned areas than synthetic ones. While Dr. Phil Haeck, the president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons says, “This is another gimmick that people are using to make themselves stand out on the Internet in a real dog-eat-dog part of medicine.”Comment

Yet another one. Are sinkholes really this common and I just never saw/heard about them? Or is this really a new problem. That's 3 in a week or two.Comment

Re: News that make you say WTF?
Yeah crazy stuff going around the world. I can understand the Florida sinkholes since it's a very swampy area. But now Illinois is getting them?Comment

Re: News that make you say WTF?
Yeah, I can assume that the East coast, whether the ocean or some other man-made object is causing these sinkholes, but why is it happening in the Midwest? Just very very odd.Comment
