Because the hate is only from the people that take the time to champion a campaign against them. Aka Rock N Roll purists who can't stand to see their genre tarnished by generic carbon copied music.

Meanwhile, the mainstream consumer aka women 18-30 eat that **** up because it's accessible and easy to digest.

Do I think Nickelback and Creed suck? Realistically no. They both have talent. It does still take that to get to that level. I just personally don't enjoy their music because as stated, it's bland and lacks originality and in reality, Nickleback is basically Creed 1.5. Bland lyrics, generic chord progressions and repetitive song structure. However, I respect the fact that they found a formula that worked and were able to prosper off of it.

Eh, It just seems like everyone hates those bands. They're the go-to groups for people to reflexively and loudly hate. And I'm sure all the people who love those bands don't feel the need to defend them every time someone makes a crack, because who cares. It's just formulaic pop music to play in your car.

I like creed a lot, but not the popular songs like 'with arms wide open'. I like the harder songs. They made lots of gems - my own prison is amazing. They also had some other great songs - bullets comes to mind.

Torn was my song back in the day. I remember getting that album through one of the Columbia House or BMG 12 for a penny deals or whatever they did, and was pacing my mom's house waiting for the mail to come so I could blast that song over and over

Whats weirder is that i hate most music that people like. I dont like pop music, or soccer mom music.

Anberlin, underoath, and emery are more of my type. Wolves at the gate is my metal fix, and needtobreathe is my southern fix. Does anybody else love their favorite bands with a passion and most people hate on them (im not talking about creed here, my family hates all of my music, especially underoath).
