Right up there with the same people who visit Florida and sit on the beach through a minimal tropical storm and end up on the news with great quotes like "Storms aren't so bad!".

Been through a small earthquake. Scared the **** out of me. Was freaked out for a few days after just waiting for it to happen again.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

All this talk about storms, for me I think the worst storm I've ever been outside for is probably big blizzard. Drifting snow/ice so hard and fast at your face that it feels like it could cut you.

Crazier thing is how they get paid to do that. I see it on the weather channel all the time. People going to places all over to track a huge storm. Their van is basically a weather station. Observing various cloud formations, seeing which way the storm is going and all that.

Right there with you man. Living in Florida, the summer is the best time of the year for me with all the rain and storms we get. I admit I'm almost crazy enough to want to experience a tropical storm or hurricane. It's just fascinating.. But obviously I don't like the damage they cause so I guess I'd rather not have one make landfall where I am. Maybe a light tropical storm lol.

There was an article on /film about The Village not being terrible.

I haven't seen it since I saw it at the theater opening weekend.

One of the most annoying things to come out of the sports world since "*****" became a go-to retort.

                      "hot takes!!!!!"

I don't think that's an uncommon opinion at all...most people I know can't stand the whole "embrace debate" philosophy that ESPN and Fox Sports have wholeheartedly adopted as the apparent raison d'etre for all modern sports networks. It's almost like you can't turn on a sports channel these days without seeing 2 guys yelling at each other on a split-screen. It's f'n nauseating and 100% of the reason I no longer watch sports networks (unless there's an actual game of some sort on).

                            Re: Uncommon Opinions

I would say tornadoes are the worst because my hometown is unrecognizable after getting blown away by a tornado in 2011, so I am biased. I also lived on the coast (in Mobile) during Katrina and that wasn't too fun either mainly due to going a week or so without power. With that said we were fortunate that the eye of the storm hit a little West of us or I may be singing a different tune.

Where I live now we get hurricanes every few years but I live so far inland that they're more of a nuisance than anything. I'm not really in danger of flooding and don't really have any trees near my house to do any damage so a hurricane is more about worrying that my shingles don't get blown off or my fence get blown over. Other than that power getting knocked out for days on end is the worst thing that can happen.

I haven't been through an earth quake yet and hopefully, never will. I'll also add that "500-year floods" suck big time.

I think most people who don't like it have only seen it once.

The first time I saw it, I was only sixteen years old. I guess I expected something different than I got. When I eventually watched it a second time, I had a more open mind understanding what it was I should be expecting, and I liked it much more.

It doesn't beat M. Night's first three well-known films, but I think it stands as #4. Split has a poor final act and The Visit was good but a once-off. I don't know if I can count Devil since he didn't direct it (though he was a co-writer), but that would stand among his "fresh" films. The rest are rotten.

That being said, I still think The Happening is the greatest troll job in the world that nobody yet understands.
