Re: Uncommon Opinions
There was a time in the early days of YouTube when the comments section was unbearable to read because the only sorting type was based on recency. However, thanks to their up-voting system, I think the comments section quite frankly is gold, and our species is a lot funnier than I give them credit for.
Yeah, the comments that just quote the video aren't that great, as well as "I'm here from ___________," and there are likely a lot of creative comments that aren't ever able to surface in popularity... but given what generally is at the top, I normally don't go to a YT video without also checking out the comments, and I'll more likely than not get a good chuckle out of something in the top ten.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I'm usually shaking my head in a mixture of disgust and disappointment and regret ever venturing to the comments section.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
"Comments" sections are generally a backwater cesspool of the worst of adolescent humanity at its most base, but there are occasionally some serious laughs to be had. Some people out there are genuinely funny.
Also unexpectedly hilarious? Some user product reviews. This used to be a lot funnier, but Best Buy apparently went in and deleted all the joke reviews (which basically made up 100% of the reviews a few years back), although some still sneak their way in:

And why would they remove them? That boosts the rating, and for customers who don't look at the comments (or if they're gullible enough to believe the things that are said) then it helps sales.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I don't think they deleted any of the ones here:
"I know you're supposed to change these out after every 3 DVDs or 3,000 gigabits, but being the conservative frugal guy I am, I often leave this sucker plugged in twice as long before I change it out for a fresh one and most of my friends don't notice."Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
For products, I rarely look at individual reviews. I go by overall rating from a significant number of people. Individual reviews for basically every product ranges from "this works perfectly, I love this product!" to "this product suck. Worst thing ever. Stopped working after a day."
The worst place to look for comments on general things(though from my experience, sports and tv are main ones I can say I've read) is reddit and twitter. People there are usually so negative about things. What's worse is how the media picks out the most ridiculous ones and tries passing it off as a consensus fanbase thought. Seen that happen so much. Like a single fan could be like "____ should trade their star player now.". The comment gets 2 likes, and media brings it up like the whole fanbase wants that guy out.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I like watching snow plows. It's almost like when you cut long grass in summer and it makes you feel good, I also like shoveling snow to get that same feeling. But at the same time, when I see the parking lots near my building get plowed, I'm somehow compelled to watch for a few minutes. Sometimes just to see the strategy they employ and wonder if I'd do it different, but also knowing that when I need to drive the next day it won't be an adventure just getting out of the lotWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I loathe Bud Light's Dilly Dilly slogan/campaign more than Bad Light itself.EXPERIENCE MAYHEM FOOTBALLComment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Unfortunately like all great things, it has become overdone and now is being beaten like a dead horse.
But I still like saying it every now and then in conversation among friends.
