Did first smoke of the year with some chicken, turned out good. didn't put any sauce on them but made my own BBQ sauces to put over them individually. Mustard based, Ketchup based and Mayonnaised based. The mayo one surprised some people..were a little hesitant to try it but liked it. Made some baked beans with ground turkey, onions, green and red peppers in it.

I know this is a grilling topic but had to put this in here, made a couple cheesecakes also. One white and milk chocolate swirled with both chocolates shaved on top.

Other is white chocolate and strawberry layered with white chocolate shavings on top. Both with a oreo cookie crust...been one hell of a busy day but everything was damn good.

Just got done BBQ'ing some New York steaks. Real nervous as my only 2nd time doing it, and charcoal grill is real tricky to me. But the temperature showed Well Done and they were juicy. Hopefully I did them right. They tasted good but needed more seasoning. Later on today gonna BBQ some carne asada on a propane grill. Slowly but surely be like all of you!

It just takes experience and eventually you'll get a better feel for how long to cook. I consider myself pretty good at grilling steaks but my last time I went with a different rub and didn't think about how it would react to the open flame. Dropped the steaks on the grill and went inside to prep sides. Went outside and saw the grill flaming up like a mofo. Another minute and we would've been eating leather.

Luckily, we were doing a peppercorn cream sauce on top so the slightly charred taste actually turned out to be a good thing.

Well, after years of dreaming about them, I finally got myself a big green egg! Went with the large.

First cook was a butterfly or "spatchcocked" chicken, pads of butter underneath skin with a dizzy pig bbq rub. I'm using big green egg charcoal, and after coming from propane....wow it adds a great amount of smoky flavor by itself. I will need to find a more mild lump charcoal for other meats. Here's a pic, chicken was great, very juicy.....

Nice! I would love to have a big green egg. I've been using this instead. Love the ceramic grill and separate wood box.

I had my eyes set on the BGE, but some unexpected expenses came up this year and I'll have to save more money. I already have a Weber Smoky Mountain which does a fine job.

I've been crushing some wings on my gas burner. I have some Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce (sweet and spicy) and it goes great on chicken.

Another sauce for you to try is sold only at Kroger grocery stores in Michigan not sure about the rest of the states. It is called Montgomery Inn barbecue sauce. I used to use only sweet baby rays but for me this sauce is far more superior especially for a store bought sauce excellent on chicken and ribs. Give it a shot fellas.

Yeah BGE's are pricey. I've been saving my "blow money" each month for it. The reason I went for it is the versatility. Can grill high-heat, low heat, smoke, or use as an oven.

Just got my smoke on today...one thing about Smoking it taste so good but damn cleaning it is a pain.

This Boston butt cooked for about 15 hours, started it last night. My gma is always picking at me saying boy you do to much, i'll just but that meat in the oven and bake it or something else. Lol

Let her taste it and she was like mmm boy this good. I turned my back to get something and turn around and she getting another piece. Lol

Did this chicken starting this morning after I took the pork out. Shredded/chopped them both.

My wife did this today. Yum. 2 racks and a brisket. Our first time using our almost 2 year old smoker that my father in law uses for brisket when he visits.
