Funny part was that I could have won them all(while still being fricking steals), but I didnt want to deviate from my gameplan

Re: Official OS Sports Card Collecting Thread

My dad found a small box of cards in my basement yesterday when we were down there that was tucked in a box (from when we moved over 5 years ago, I assume), and it didn't have anything super nice, I found about 2-3 Mike Mussina rookies and about 10 Gary Sheffield ones lol.
I probably have 100 Sheffield rookies, it's a shame they aren't worth anything.

Also have any of you guys seen any of the 2013 Tribute that was released recently? It is a high end product ($300 a box, way too much for me) but has some sick hits.
Although this is probably the best hit imo in the set b/c it is possibly one of the last cards Stan Musial signed and a 1/1 with Harper who is a stud:

That card is so amazing. I'm gonna try to grab a gold one, they're /25. No way in hell I'd ever have my hands on the one above.

        Also, just got

for about 70 bones. Book value says it's 150, and there are 2 on eBay for that price and another for about 250. Not complaining. Plus it just gives me more reason to hope that that freak turns out.

Also got a 2012 Bowman Sterling Matt Harvey Gold /50 (no auto, sadly) but paid around book price for it. Spent about 110ish (with shipping and handling costs in that price) for almost $200 worth of cards so I'm happy and it was a good day.

Still debating on which case of cards to pull the trigger on.

Going through my cards now (most of them are sorted into teams that me and my dad did probably around 2005ish) and it's awesome. I am doing Atlanta boxes right now, and I probably have about 50 Chipper/Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz cards each (and actually found 3 Smoltz rookies that shouldn't have been in there to start with). More than anything it is great to do this and remember the good times my dad and I had organizing these to start with.

I'm trying out some free sniping software for eBay just to see how things go. If it turns out to be any decent, I'll share with you all. So far it's set up and running nicely, just don't know if it actually works.

              How exactly do those work?

Do you still put in a max bid or does it just automatically outbid everyone until you win?

I believe you still put in a max bid, but it puts a bid in at the very last second so no one else can out bid you again.

Re: Official OS Sports Card Collecting Thread

This a great thread that brings back so many great memories. I was a pretty big collector probably from 1990-2002. Once I graduated high school in 02, I really just purchased a pack of cards from time to time. Up until recently I would buy an occasional pack. However I am starting to get back into collecting again. Growing up I collected baseball, basketball, and football. I still have just about all of my cards. Recently my brother started to get into collecting baseball cards, so I am going to give him most of my baseball cards.

I have always collected more rookie cards with guys in their college uniforms but I collected everything. Now that I am collecting again, all I am going to collect are cards with guys in their college uniforms.

I am going to purchase a hobby box of something tonight, once I do I`ll post some pictures of anything good.

I started doing this, picked up Charlie Ward, Peter Warrick and Derrick Brooks. Gonna try and get most of those 93 and 99 teams

Also Deron Williams. Almost had a Dee Brown but was sniped away

According to a contest on Facebook topps shop ran (which I didn't even know I entered) I won a $100 gift card! Unfortunately they don't have any 2013 stuff on their website, so when I receive the code I am going to buy a box of Bowman Chrome or Bowman Platinum most likely. This is awesome

I don't know if this is something we would be allowed to do on OS (since they wouldn't want to be responsible if someone got hosed) but if so, would anyone be interested in any trades?

I'd get rid of my Nick Hagadone and maybe a few others I can post later if anyone is interested.

I never realized this but an attorney at my job recently got an autographed RG3 card and sold it for $2500 than it hit me....why dont I keep a lookout for these type of workshops and autograph signings by athletes so I can boost the value of these worthless 80s-90s cards.

I know I'm a day late and dollar short on this idea but I was pretty content on giving my collection to my kid and hopefully her kid cause seeing any profit from those cards seemed impossible.

I ended up going with a box of Topps Chrome with my gift card. I am worried that these boxes are retail boxes and I might not get anything, but the thrill of opening them, especially when it is free, is great. Not to mention I bought 10 packs of toploaders that I need for other cards in my collection.
