That point when you realize you've gone over the edge during a night of drinking is an awful feeling, although it sounds like you don't remember feeling that, haha.

A couple months ago I crossed that line, and after our friends left the apartment, I hugged the toilet for a long time. By the time I was able to stumble out of the bathroom and into my bed, my roommate had cleaned the entire apartment, and was just finishing up a movie

I feel like I have a pretty good handle on knowing where that line is now, thankfully.

I was plenty stupid in college and a while after....now my wife and I will occasionally have a beer (or me a whiskey on the rocks) and drink a little.

I had to pick her up from her bachelorette party thrown by co-workers. They essentially just wanted to see her drunk, so they kept feeding her beers and tequila shots. She was hurting the next day.

I used to be able to handle a bunch of shots/beers, but don't have the tolerance now....

Strong beer is tasty, but also dangerous. Especially when Mr. Delicious Shots and his friends show up.

I got some major secrets. After seeing all you people post yours I'm tempted to join in, but I'm iffy about it since I've put some personal stuff on other boards before and it completely backfired. You all have some guts.

I think I am one more bad....not bad, sorry, one more disappointing night...away from spiraling onto the path every single male in my family has been down. Well, in a sense. They're all alcoholics (hell, even my aunts married alcoholics), I don't think I'd become an alcoholic, but I'm talking about the depression and general miserable nature that has accompanied their lives.

I like drinking. I've known if I start liking drinking too much I could end up like all of them, so I've spent most of my drinking days refraining from ever drinking too much, I've never blacked out - aside from the almost dying concussion story I posted on here when it happened - and I don't feel a physical need to drink. I just like it. However, recently, since everything has started falling apart around me...in good ways and bad...I've wanted to more and more and I've found myself drinking more and more and letting myself lose a little more control each time. I know some people will say I'm reading into it too much, but I've been monitoring my desire/need/enjoyment of drinking closely since I started so I know when something changes.

I also know what's changed is I feel like everything around me has disappointed me. My relationship, my job, my family, my friends...there's a very dark haze surrounding me and it's gotten me searching for new distractions. My friends like to go out drinking so in order to use them as a distraction I'm around drinking and then I want to drink and poof, I'm distracted.

Then I wake up like I did this morning, sad and regretful and overall miserable, and I forget that last night was fun despite not meeting up to expectations. I feel like my entire life has turned into the (500) Expectations Vs Reality scene suddenly. I never used to expect anything, I never used to hope for **** and since this happened I've been letting myself go down that path and everything doesn't measure up. And this constant feeling of disappointment is bringing me back to my depression that I had a done a good job keeping away and that's making me want to drink more. Sometimes a lot more.

And it sucks.

It just sounds to me like you need a change of scenery more than anything else.
