It's easier to blame the weather, just like it's easy to blame music and video games on other things.

And you guys likely use some sort of anti-icing material on your roads that helps prevent snow and ice from building up.

They encourage the ice. They only treat the roads with a Zamboni because it drives better that way.

And...? It doesn't prevent the ice from sticking around. My point was that whether you drive a 4WD or 2WD or whatever, you're not immune to the road conditions.

I see way too many people who think 4WD makes them invincible to slick conditions.

                          Yes, really.

Just a quick Google search of ND DOT and look at #1

                          1. Why does NDDOT spray water or liquids on the road on a clear day?
NDDOT is applying liquid ice melting material. The liquid melts snow and ice in temperatures well below zero degrees Fahrenheit and is generally a blend of water, salt, and a product that comes from sugar beets. Applying the liquids early helps melt snow and ice as they form and helps prevent snow or ice from bonding to the road. This method called anti-icing, or pre-treating, is a proactive approach to fighting snow and ice buildup. Effective anti-icing can reduce costs, reduce environmental impacts, improve service to the motorists, and enhance safety.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

                                Oh right, I wouldn't.

We don't spray anything down in my area, and we deal with it just fine. Sorry that people don't know how to drive in the south whenever the weather is inclement. Oh my, what is this magically **** falling from the sky? Better drive like an ******* and blame it on it whenever I wreck!
