The dude who taped it made a heck of a lot more than the $ 1,000 he spent, most likely.

But the authenticity of the homeless man can still make you feel some type of way.

I saw myself in the crowd lol. If they show a crowd shot I would be on the far left (facing the crowd) in a gray plaid shirt with the dreadlocks tied back.

BTW I may have gassed up the beard. Think more sloppy/patchy than crazy lol.

My other option is to jump ship completely to DirecTV and get Verizon DSL for my internet.

Basically the only currently running shows I watch on TV are HBO stuff which I can live without, AMC shows (namely Mad Men), and a handful of network tv shows that I can probably catch on Hulu or on the channel's website. My only real concern is sports programming as I am unfortunately a diehard Redskins fan and am starting to follow the Wizards.
          What do you guys recommend?
I did Internet only for about 2 years. Between xbox/ps (Netflix, Hulu, etc) and websites for sporting events, I was good. The only issue I had was having to wait when turning stuff on as opposed to just hitting the power button on the TV.

            Re: Off Topic 2014

It sucks to have to "compete" for a grandparent.

I have one surviving grandparent left, my Grandpa on my mom's side. My Grandma died about 5 years ago now (her and my Grandpa had been married for like 45 years), and about a year after she died, my Grandpa got remarried. Now, the woman he remarried had been a widow for like 15 years, so the two families were at very different stages... Hell, the first time my Grandpa introduced her to us (and even at the wedding), my entire family was basically still grieving the loss of our Grandma. Her family is all for it, because she's been a widow for so long, but our family, not so much. We're always civil with her and her family, but it's just... weird. Still is. Even after like 3 years of them being married.

So apparently this woman's family are all saints, because we hear about them all the ****ing time. "Oh, Johnny is studying at Oxford this summer. And Cindy is doing missionary work in Africa for a year." Like, at our family holidays it's all we hear about. Then this past holiday season Grandpa and her decide not to come to Thanksgiving, because they're going to her family's place, and they just decided to "drop in" for a few minutes on Christmas Eve. Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve are both long standing traditions in our family. But apparently now they're going to her family for holidays?

I feel like they have a scoreboard up in their house for number of times each set of grandchildren call. When we give Grandpa a call for stuff like Birthdays, etc. He'll say stuff like "Well, I heard from all of her grandchildren, but still haven't heard from Danny and Kaitlin (cousins of mine)"

Now, should we (as grandchildren) call them more? Probably, yeah. I think most people could probably say that about themselves (except her family apparently, lol). But it just sucks to have to compete with a set of people that we don't even know for our Grandparent's attention. Like if we don't call enough he's not even gonna come to holidays or something...

Blah. Felt good to just type all that out. Don't expect anyone to read all that, just had to get it out, haha.

Not to play devils advocate but Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve are longstanding traditions for most families. Thus, they probably have some traditions on her side of the family each year as well. If I were you, I'd make an effort to get the planning for this Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve rolling sooner rather than later. Make sure he knows that the family wants him there. To me it seems like the most logical thing for them to do is spend Thanksgiving with one side of the family and then Christmas Eve with the other. Then the following year, do the opposite.

I get that. But the problem is we don't really plan it. Everyone just knows to go to my Aunt and Uncle's house (used to be Grandparent's house; moved after Grandma died) on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. The only planning that goes into it is the food, and that's done by two of my uncles.

I guess we'll just have to start actually planning it now...

I really need to do something with my cable too. I don't even have all of the movie channels (just HBO and Showtime) and my cable/internet is $212/mo.

That's not counting when I order UFC PPV's. In February there were two PPV's. I even ordered one without HD to cut cost... My February cable bill was $318.

I guess I'm going to start my giving Showtime the boot.
