Been looking around at some tablets,never had one before so figured asking people who have likely used tablets more than me can help. Don't care about picture taking(so camera quality not important to me). Apps,internet,video watching are mostly what I'll be using it for. Ipad and Samsung Galaxy are the 2 main ones I know of. Really don't want an IPad cause I know the cheapest are like $300(and most expensive are about $900).

Been looking at Samsung Galaxy and noticed the prices are good. 7 inch tab 3 for $150,10 inch tab 3 for $300. 7 inch tab 4 for $200,10 inch tab 4 for $350. Would I notice much difference between 7 and 10? And is $150 really worth a 3 inch bigger screen? Also,is there much difference between tab 3 and 4? $150-$300 is my preferred price range.

So would people say samsung galaxy tablet would be good for me, or might there be another one out there people would recommend instead(since as I stated,I don't have any prior experience with them so don't know which ones are good and which ones aren't)?

Also,app wise,does it really matter which tablet I have or what? Meaning would it make a difference if I had an ipad,galaxy or something else like lenovo/asus/acer tablet?

As an iPad Mini with Retina Display owner who spends many hours a day dicking around on the thing and is currently typing this post from it, I agree with this.

And I'm so so so glad I paid the extra hundred and sprang for the Retina display. I know the 299 price tag on the cheapest iPad Mini is tempting, but man, it's a world of difference.

I love my IPad Air, I actually disagree with the Mini being the best. My reasoning is that if you have a iPhone then the advantages of the Mini are negated and you don't get the functionality of a full size Ipad. Saying the Mini being lighter is a benefit is hysterical to me, I have never once thought " gee this ipad is so have I can't carry it anymore.

If you have a Iphone, just get the Air.

That being said, I just went on vacation to Boston and the amount of people taking pictures with a Full size ipad was very amusing.

This is a crazy argument because the Air and the Mini are far and away the best tablets, choosing one over the other is truly a good problem to have.

Personally my IPad Air is used for when I am on the couch or when I Travel(media player in my hotel or watching movies on a plane). I think if you travel more and like a ipad with you at all times then the Mini is the way to go. The processor is better in the Air so that is why I went with it. All of that justifies spending the extra $100. Ipad on my couch, iphone in my pocket

I have used a mini a few times but I am just so damn satisfied with my air I couldn't possibly want anything else.

I love my Mini, the bigger Ipad's just feel like i'm using a way less functional laptop. Oddly enough I would say the lighter/smaller feel is a huge benefit. As a student it was insanely easy to care around campus and in student teaching I didn't have to worry so much about a student dropping it.

I need to start using it more though, lately i've only used it for the Verizon TV App or other streaming.

I would never get an iPad because no flash player means no sites that I rely on for games that I don't get on TV.
