Re: Off Topic 2014
Alright my Chicago people, I am in need of your assistance.
I've mentioned here before, but my girlfriend is going to Malaysia for 10 months in January. The plan is that we'll move in together somewhere when she returns.
She is hoping to go to Grad School, and as of now, the two places she really wants to apply to are schools in London, England and Washington DC.
She's open to Chicago based on what I've told her before, but she's never been there. One of the perks of working for the company that I currently work for is that we get discounted hotels in Chicago, so I'm hoping to take her there for a weekend.
Where should I take her/what should I do with her in Chicago to sell her on the city? Her family is obsessed with food, so she loves to see markets, different sections of cities that have different types of food and stuff. She also loves museums. And I'm hoping to take her to see Wrigleyville and Millenium Park at least.
Personally, I'm open to DC and London as well, but my company has a branch in Chicago that I could transfer to, so the transition to Chicago would probably be much easier for me than the other two places.
Soooo yeah, I appreciate any advice that you guys have.
Take her down Michigan Avenue, she would be in heaven, most women are when they go down that street.
Eli's Cheese Cake - legendary in downtown Chicago.
Garrett's Popcorn - the best popcorn you will ever have, you can smell it for miles downtown.
Greek Town which is an area downtown Chicago, some of the best traditional Greek restaurants.
Plenty of museums in Chicago.
If you stay downtown Chicago you will be sold. Travel too far south, west or north, then you will see the REAL CHICAGO, which is ghetto. Kind of like Washington D.CComment

Re: Off Topic 2014
I'm not big on Po boys, but I think the roast beef from R&O's may be the best one.
Spoiler
If we're being honest, my favorite place to eat in NOLA is Camellia Grill, and not a seafood or po boy joint like you'd expect to hear. They make the best *** **** hamburger that has ever entered my mouth. It looks cheap and greasy, but it taste like...you know how you felt when you saw your first pair of boobs? That's what it tastes like.
Spoiler
With that said, if you're gonna swing by the tailgate and have some of @zrau's Smoked Pork/Ribs/Mac N Cheese, you're likely not to eat all day Sunday, so choose wisely.
This is what's waiting for you Saturday, should you choose to accept:

Re:Chicago. Don't venture anywhere south of downtown. There are too many great places to eat to list. That's all I got. I'm actually going to be heading there for a few days two weeks from today.Comment

Well Mo lives somewhere south of Chicago, so one would think that would be enough of a deterrent for anyone to go near that area.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

If it was me, then it was Mahony's. They have some awesome Po-Boy's. Although, I'm upset with them to the point of never going back because they took their Sweet Potato Crunch Pie off of the menu.
