Off Topic 2014
This is just so confusing. My grandpa doesn't even know. It sounds like his mom ran away from his dad and erased their family history back in the 1930s or something when my grandpa was 5 and never told him the truth.
Edit: and there's a message board of all these relatives trying to figure what happened to my great grandma and my grandpa because my great grandma somehow basically erased her and her kids from all records.Last edited by Yeah...THAT Guy; 12-30-2014, 09:04 PM.NFL: Bills

Re: Off Topic 2014
So as far as we currently understand, my great grandpa had three wives. He had two kids with the first. Then his wife died (at a young age). His daughter stayed with him, but his son went to live with his wife's sister and changed his name and started a new life there.
Then he married my great grandma and had two kids (one of which is my grandpa). Something happened in the 1930s when my grandpa was 5 and my great grandma took the kids and moved into her family's guest house. A year later, the great grandpa tracked them down. Shortly thereafter, all of my great grandma's relatives that were living on that property abandoned it. Then the entire property burned down, erasing all of my family's documents and history.
Then my great grandma took the kids and moved to the city, changed everyone's names, somehow got legal social security numbers and official documentation, and started a brand new family line away from my great grandpa.
We're still trying to piece together what happened to the first wife and what exactly happened that caused my great grandma to run away twice, and how she was able to pull off basically disappearing and creating new identities for her and her kids.NFL: Bills

Re: Off Topic 2014
Wow... That makes for a very interesting story, to say the least. Only reasoning I've ever heard of for changing last names is A) Immigrants "Americanizing" their names at Ellis Island and B) German immigrants Americanizing names during WWII. Kind of cool that you've uncovered all of this.
Yeah, and this definitely wasn't one of those things. Our real name is nowhere near the name I've been living under all these years. My great grandma was clearly trying to put her past behind her. Just not sure why yet.NFL: Bills

Re: Off Topic 2014
Random question...
There's an old 90s cartoon I'm trying to remember. There's a guy who turns into a girl during the night and beats the **** out of people. There's also another guy that knows both the male and female version but doesn't know it's the same person and is in love with the girl.
This is driving me nuts trying to remember the name lol.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

**** yes, that's it!
The whole reason this came up was because of a friend at work. Apparently he's been trying to remember the name for 2 years and now OS has come to the rescue lol.
Also through my search for this show I was reminded of another old cartoon I used to watch all the time. Anyone remember The Head?Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
