Re: So what do you do ?

I'm an Adjunct Psychology Professor and P.E. teacher, coach baseball, and do some performance/mental skills training with athletes.

Got my M.A. in Sport and Performance Psychology. I would like my practice to grow more and become the majority of my income in the next couple of years and use teaching/coaching as a supplement.

Edit: Yes, there actually is a thread similar to this one somewhere, but I'm pretty sure it's been buried.

What's the level of math you do as a financial analyst? I been thinking of applying to a financial analyst type of job when im done uni. I'm in math physics, I think i'd get bored from easy math

I'm a high school math teacher. I majored in computer science and wanted to get into video game design, but while on the job hunt I began substitute teaching. Never looked back, then went and got my credential. Currently working on my thesis in my Masters. Eventually I'm sure I'll look into teaching at the collegiate level.

I also coach girls' fast pitch softball year-round, both for high school and a competitive 16U travel team.

Re: So what do you do ?

              Studied computer science.

Currently a "Developer" (yes, apparently that's my completely nondescript job title) for a enterprise software application company by day. I write iOS and Android applications.

By night, I'm a independent game developer. Indie game-dev is how I got my break, actually, because the world is a strange place.

The day job is less exciting than the night job, but it pays the bills (the night one creates them, haha) and I enjoy writing code and solving problems so it's pretty nice, all things considered.

I work in the finance department of a major health system, but I'm currently trying to get my certification to do medical coding. The option to work from home is a plus, and I'd be able to move out of PA (finally).

I do SharePoint development for company who's main client is John Deere. I design forms and workflows for them and sometimes do web pages. My official title is Knowledge Transfer Analyst or IT Analyst but I'm really just a developer. We have a really cool team of guys. Everyone is pretty much into the same things (sports, working out, beer). I'm very lucky to be with such a good company that does meaningful and interesting work.

I was a computer programmer in the past so that background has helped me transition to SharePoint. I went back to college in 2008 for computer programming/web design after being in sales/management for about 8 years. Initially I obtained a degree in English and Journalism but never used it and went right into sales after I graduated.

Re: So what do you do ?

I re-enrolled to college in the fall of 2013, and I'm currently mid-way through my sophomore year at Penn State. Initially I was studying to be a History Teacher, however I switched to Criminal Justice and am now in the Criminal Justice B.S. program.

I currently work for an organization called Adelphoi Village, which helps troubled youth, felon youth etc. The location I work at his pretty much half sex-offenders, half robbery/burglary felons. It's pretty much a half-way house for them and we're the last step before we decide if they're rehabilitated enough to be released back into the community.

Re: So what do you do ?

I am a retail business manager for a company called UNFI. I do work in 12 different Shoprite grocery stores around my area. It is the easiest job ever. My boss is super cool and doesn't give a crap what time I finish each day as long as there are never complaints from the stores and I turn in all my emails on time.

I pretty much just service and manage the products of ours that the stores carry. I order for the ad each week, sell displays for sales, cut in new items in my sections, check for out of codes and discontinued items, reset sections when they need to be addressed and turn in reports in emails each week. I love the job. It's pretty much like working for myself since my boss never needs to check up on me.

Re: So what do you do ?

I work for a major north east office supplier, I wear many hats but mostly I'm just a regular delivery driver. I do lots of training though so I'm all over the place, in the past year I've been Buffalo, Rochester, Pittsburgh, a few other smaller cities, and Cleveland is on the horizon.

It is a pretty physical job but I like the work, it's pretty easy and I'm never in one place for more than 20 minutes. What I really like is the work atmosphere though, the management is chill and just lets us blue collar guys get the work done. I've thought about going back to college for a job that's not as physical but I really do like what I do most days. Just got a nice raise too so that's a plus.

I'm a PE teacher and union president. I'm heading back to school this spring for my administration degree. The school is paying for it so I figured what the heck.
