Re: So what do you do ?
Starting Friday i'm a 1st grade teacher. This is about where I plan to stay for most of my career barring some serious change in thinking down the line.
I do have a Reading Endorsement that'll allow me to teach reading in any grade so maybe one day i'll try HS and see if I can get into some form of football coaching.Last edited by Chrisksaint; 12-15-2014, 01:46 PM.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

I am a Contracts Specialist for the Dept of the Army. Basically buy and sell Javelin and TOW missiles for the Army. Might sound interesting, but pretty uneventful most days.Comment

Ok, who's going to be the marine biologist?
OK, before this gets turned into a Seinfeld thread (and what a time, too, before Fest—) I used to play hockey and am on a semi-working year before college.Comment

Re: So what do you do ?
I'm an Assistant Controller for a worldwide Electrical and Instrumentation company.
Basically, I oversee all of the accounting practices for our jobs in Arizona and most of California. It's actually a smaller part of our company so basically I'm a one man department handling everything from preparing annual budgets and monthly financial reports down to billing our clients and paying the bills.
It can be a boring job at times, but coming from retail into this job where I sit in my own office from 8-5, haven't worked a single bit of OT in six years and my phone rarely rings (maybe once our twice a month) has been awesome. The perks and pay are pretty great too.Last edited by jeremym480; 12-15-2014, 08:29 PM.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: So what do you do ?
I teach Kindergarten through 8th grade Computer Technology and am the IT guy at the school as well. I see all the classes one time per week in the lab. Best part of my job, having been there for 13 years now, is that the 8th graders.............were my kindergarteners at one point. I get to know the whole building and teach the same kids for 9 years. Many come back and visit and keep touch. 3 of which are my sub varsity level coaches now on the High School staff, man, did they learn how their old teacher can extinct beers! GOOD STUFF!
I'm also a head high school varsity baseball coach, my boys took the State Title in 2013 and we got to the finals last year but couldn't hold the lead in the 7th. We were out of fire power, but so proud of my kids.
Otherwise when I'm not crushing beers and posting on OS I give private pitching lessons all winter long after school contracted out by many of the local high schools and summer time I usually coach a 17 year old AAU Prospect team but finally, for the first time in 15 years since playing college ball, I'M TAKING A SUMMER OFF!
Can't wait for the wife and I go visit MLB Ball Parks and have a vacation and of course.......CRUSH BEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT: About 15 minutes after this post I got an email that one of my old students, she's a sophomore in college now who's butt I used to kick about grades, now Dean's list and going to be a teacher as well. Just emailed me and is bringing pizza for me, her and the Phys Ed teacher since she is home on break . GOOD STUFF!Last edited by shogunofharlem3; 12-15-2014, 10:15 PM.Comment

It's always good when they come back and let you know you made a difference. It's also amazing to see how most of them mature. I get them as freshmen and juniors/seniors depending on what 3rd science they choose.I teach Kindergarten through 8th grade Computer Technology and am the IT guy at the school as well.
