lol, kids never listen to the whole "don't go door to door selling to strangers" line said during school fundraisers.

Just saw a group of kids going door to door on my street, trying to sell stuff. Even though people were home in most houses, nobody answered. After all...who'd answer the door for abunch of 15 year old kids in the middle of the evening.

No reason for someone to knock on your door without notice ahead of time these days.

If they ain't banging on it like a crazy person, it's not an emergency and they can just go away.

What surprises me even more is how door to door salesmen still exist! Sure, I'd much rather a door to door salseperson over someone calling, cause that way the salesman can come in middle of day when nobodys home instead of some stupid person not realizing they're talking to the answering machine.

Or you could just not have a home phone. I'd take someone calling me vs someone coming to my door.

An overpass that was being prepared for demolition to make way for a new one currently under construction collapsed onto I-75 here in Cincy a few hours ago. 1 construction worker died and a truck driver was injured when he wrecked into the mess. Feel awful for the worker's family. They're saying I-75 could be shut down for 48 hours.

I've been on hold for over 10 minutes with my school's admissions office. Not only does their mistake remove me from any classes and make it impossible for me to sign up(saying I have a hold, yet when I click the link to pay said hold, it takes me to a receipt where I paid this thing awhile back), but I have to wait this long at least to get on the phone.

I guess I could be in a much worse situation, but this is pretty annoying when you only have 2 classes left to take and call it done... with this school at least.

20 minutes now. I think I am going to drive up there and stay on hold and see if I can drive all the way to school before I ever talk to an actual human being.

lol, I did that fairly often too. Sometimes sites might have 70% of the book from 2-3 years ago. I'd take that for free over paying hundreds of dollars for the textbook. Key is to find sentences from the textbook you're gonna be using(so just borrow someones for a second or two and copy down a sentence from the book), and then search it on google. I did that for a number of my past books and managed to find books online.


Unfortunately, some courses force the scam on students. They intentionally change up the book every semester to the point where if you have a copy from the prior semester, it's of no use because if you're doing cases from the book,the info might be even slightly altered to the point where if you don't have the current semesters version of the book, you're screwed.

My university rents textbooks for free. I'm sure that cost is built in somewhere else, but it still makes me feel good about it.
