Re: Off Topic 2015
In other words, your decline into senality has begun.
You'll start tucking in your shirt even while wearing jeans.
You'll even get the respect nod from those younger than you (rather than the "'Sup!" nod).
You'll soon start sprouting hairs all over the place where you look the Geico caveman (seriously, my dad looks like he has a Siberian husky trapped under his chest he has so many white hairs popping out the top of his shirt).
SpoilerKnight can fill you on the rest.
You'll be the adored by women young, old and in between.
Ummm....I can't remember anything else.

Re: Off Topic 2015
Well I'm going off to attempt to buy my first ever car tomorrow. Yes I'm late to the party, but this is my first year of actually making somewhat decent income. (been saving for well over a year now)
A little anxious, and nervous. Basically my father who works at a car dealership has a co-worker who made a call to his sales manager at his old dealership.. and at least over the phone I'm supposed to be getting a good deal on a 2015 Honda Civic. Atleast $2,000 below MSRP, and slightly below factory invoice.
Really like the car and supposedly he's throwing in a few extra perks with the car with no added cost(Mud Flaps, Door Edge Guards, Wheel locks, and a Trunk Tray Cover), and Honda's have a reputation for reliability so that's what really sold me on the car. I'm ready to make a very solid Down payment coming in with at least 20% of the cars' worth in cash, and should be able to get financing through my bank at 2.5% for 60 months; and if they aren't satisfied with my credit my Father is willing to co-sign for me.
Really hoping the deal can go through, with little issues.. but I've heard some car buying nightmare stories that are making me nervous. It's going to be a 42 mile drive to this dealership, I'm just worried getting there and the Sales Manager that we talked to not being there, or being tied up and having to deal with another sales rep who calls bogus on the pricing and makes things difficult. Or the Sales Manager having last second thoughts and trying to pull out of the negotiated deal; but at least I've done everything on my end... I think.Last edited by Feared; 07-22-2015, 07:32 PM.Minnesota Vikings

Re: Off Topic 2015
It finally happened. Tonight, I achieved one of my (dumber and sad) life goals.
We go to Pluckers (the best wing place in the world but that's besides the point) every Tuesday for sports trivia. Not only do we rake, our group is so big it requires two tables (about 8-9 people or so). Tonight we walked into the bar area and just put two tables together without consulting the staff because at this point they know we're going to need two tables.
And then it happened. Our usual waitress didn't even take my order. She just brought out my 10 Dr. Pepper wings and side of fries.
Y'all don't understand how excited I am about this. I always wanted to be the old man that has a "regular" order at a restaurant. I thought that only happened in the movies. I didn't think this type of stuff actually happened.
This was me at every college dining hall, and is also me at the Moe's next to my work lol. I have very plain taste when it comes to sandwiches and burritos (chicken, cheese, lettuce, and that's it for the burrito; ham instead of chicken for the sandwich). People used to see me coming at the dining halls at school and request to serve me because they knew what I wanted and knew how simple it was lol.

The random things I find late....

Speaking of Smash Bros...something crazy I just found out,the race to the finish mode...you weren't supposed to go into the first door! I thought it was a race to the first door, never knew there was an entire 30+ second stage! So me and my friends had it wrong for all those years back then!

I was leasing a 2010 Nissan Altima (leased because I was stupid in trading cars so I leased to get out of the high payment/debt) and once it was over, I bought a 2013 Honda Civic LX-Coupe.
I had done my research so I knew the dollar amount I needed to finance to get to the payment I wanted - I told the Honda place I will not finance a penny above $300/month. Once we started talking numbers, they would go back/forth to the sales desk...my dad was in shock as I could predict where they would come back to me after all my counters. I told them I'd be willing to put some money down to lower the APR and GAP insurance but they must meet me halfway which sealed it.
The MSRP on my car was $22K and they came down $2K...so after the $750 in GAP insurance (MUST HAVE) and lowering the interest rate, I ended up putting down $2K for a $299.98/payment at 0.9% APR for 66 months.
This was in September of 2013 and I now have $12.3K left on the loan with my car's Kelly Blue-Book value ($15.8K) worth more than what I owe.
...anyways, make sure you don't cave. Stick to your guns and what you want to pay as otherwise, you'll be stuck for 5 years. Settling for a deal means you'll regret it very very soon (trust me).Last edited by Speedy; 07-23-2015, 09:12 AM.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: Off Topic 2015
Just got word from my uncle's saving me tickets for the Ravens Sunday night game against Seattle in week 14. Hopefully both teams have lived up to expectations by that point in the season. Pretty stoked for it.Comment

*Seahawks tickets are stupid expensive so I couldn't get tickets to their MNF game against Detroit, therefore I will hate on anyone with tickets to a Seattle game home or away
[Insert discussion about why NFL games suck to go to + counterpoint of Seattle actually isn't bad/my team rarely comes here]Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
Steelers tickets are really expensive and hard to come by as well. Only games I've ever been to, the tickets were given to my mom or dad by one of their bosses or a friend. The 2 regular season games i went to were in '90 vs. the Falcons and '91 vs. the Seahawks, plus I've been to 2 preseason games, 1 in '99 or '00 vs. the Bears and another a couple years later against the Panthers. The one against the Panthers is the only Steelers game I've been to at Heinz Field.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
Penguins : 1990/91, 1991/92, 2008/09, 20015/16, 2016/17
Pirates : 1909, 1925, 1960, 1971, 1979
Panthers (FB): 1915, 1916, 1918, 1929, 1931, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1976
Panthers (MBB): 1927/28, 1929/30Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
I'm just fortunate enough to have an uncle who's a season ticket holder. Usually get to a game or two every season. Was at the playoff loss to the Titans back in 2003, but since the Ravens seem to like taking the difficult road through the playoffs, there hasn't been too many other home postseason games I've had a chance to go to.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
Chiefs tickets are usually pretty reasonable. I sat about 10 rows up at the 50 yard line for $110 a ticket 2 years ago (when they sucked) and for about $190 last year. Fantastic seats. Might try Dallas this year if I can find something lower in a section, but it won't be anywhere near the field compared to KC.Comment
