Re: Off Topic 2015
Made the switch from drinking decent amount of soda earlier this year, glad I did. I replaced it with water and an occasional ice tea.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
I haven't had a soda in over ten years. I had Red Bull maybe once in that time span.
My daily beverage intake includes water, an orange/carrot/banana/mango smoothie, and vanilla/chocolate ice cream shake.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
It's really hard for me because I hate water, and from ages 12-19 I probably drank anywhere from 3-6 cans of soda a day. I'm trying to replace the soda with green tea, but I can't budge on the no water thing unless I'm insanely thirsty and there aren't any other options available.Comment

But I'll get rid of it eventually.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
I'm trying to quit (again). I made a bet with a co-worker: If either of us drinks a soda at work, we owe the other one $5. But that only applies at work.
I drink Propel water at the gym and love it. I frustrate myself that I reach for a Coke more than a Propel at home.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
The thing with water is I always chug it. I can't enjoy a glass/bottle of water (especially since it doesn't taste like anything). whereas I'll work on a Dr. Pepper over the course of a few hours (can/cup from a fast food place) to the entire day (16.9 or 20 oz. bottle). I do drink less than I used to though, like today I am just drink 1 12 oz. can which I leave in my kitchen and just periodically go in and take a sip or 2 so it'll last me until this evening. Some days I drink 1 can and some days I drink 1 16.9 or 20 oz. bottle, but virtually never both. Only exception is if i'm out. Ultimately I probably drink at least as much water as i do pop though since I chug several large cups a day.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: Off Topic 2015
Glad I got off the soda addiction. It's definitely the main culprit why I have diabetes. I don't take meds for it thankfully but take it from me, that **** is straight poison.

Re: Off Topic 2015
Yea in the last couple of months I have started to get away from soda. Been going with more Iced tea, juice, lemonade, and water. Surprisingly it has been pretty easy. The only time I will get a soda is if I go out to eat or something.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
Depends on the person really. My wife loves water, that is all she drinks other then coffee. She will drink cold water, she will drink it warm. Me on the other hand, my water have to be ice cold. Like sitting in the refrigerator for a few hours or more type of cold.
I personally don't like ice at all. I will tolerate it from fast food places and restaurants. But at home, no ice shall ever go in my glass. Over all though I am more of a juice person. White grape juice I drink the most, followed by V8 splash, powerade, gatorade. Pretty much only drink 1 can of POP a day. And the only kind I like is the clear kind, ginger ale or sprite. Don't care for Coke, Tabb, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi or anything else.
When I go out to eat I don't order pop at all, I get lemonade instead. One of my friends I known half my life is a real health nut. He gave up all unnatural stuff years ago. It is to the point that if he even takes a bite of a donut or anything artificial it makes him sick to his stomach. His body instantly rejects it.
Some people hate going to their house because of it. You won't see average things in their kitchen at all. Everything have to be natural, GMO free, gluten free, blah blah. Brown eggs, brown rice, raw sugar, raw honey, raw flour.
The older you get though, your eating and drinking habits change. For most people anyway.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
I went a summer living at my grandma's house and her water was so horrible I couldn't drink it. It smelled bad, tasted bad, was discolored, etc. I was afraid of tap water from anyone's house for a couple years after that (and honestly still a little scared). Now I do Brita, not afraid to drink my water unfiltered, it just eases my mind a bit. I don't know how people drank that water and didn't get sick, it was so grossWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Off Topic 2015
Just a matter of moderation. But people can't control themselves and it's so readily available in bottled form, so the convenience kills too.
I always knew drinking soda all the time was bad. Sugars (well, high fructose corn syrup) mainly. But then I saw how corrosive Coke was and that really rammed the point home.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
