Re: Things that took you way too long to realize....
Not sure if this is an obvious one, but I just realized how fixing my own chair makes a big difference.
On the main recliner that I've had for years, over the past couple of months it started feeling like it was done. Worst was when I tried opening it, it started giving trouble, and if I reclined too far back, it would almost get stuck.
Then recently the leg rest started feeling real loose and I had more problems trying to get it to recline. I turned it over to try fixing it and the entire leg rest almost came apart and I saw a screw that just fell on the floor. I screwed it back in and tightened all the screws around the chair and the chair now feels good as new.
Now I wonder how, if it's even possible, to get the cushion to feel good as new. It's designed where the cushion is inside the chair and stapled all around so you can't get in it.
Tldr version....My chair felt like it was falling apart, I turned it over, realized a screw clearly wasn't in it anymore (since it just fell out), tightened all screws, and it feels good as new.Comment

What took me so long to realize is that when you find a good one, as in for marriage, to stop looking around for a better one. It’s not even a better one. Just the chase for something new I guess. Took so so long for me to figure out that I would ruin things with women because the second I realized they were into me, I was ready to look for the next challenge. Now that I’ve discovered this about myself, I’ve been fortunate enough to settle for a woman that had waited for me to figure this all out and has become my best friend and wife. Thank god it worked out.
I’ll give some advice to anyone unsure of things. Never be the oldest guy at the club or bad. Trust me, even if one night it seems okay, it never really works out. Trust me.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

What took me too long to realize is there are many more amazing games to play than just a sports games, especially since I got the console.
And now I fear I will never be able to find enough time to play all these gems, including the ones that are yet to come.Montreal Canadiens
Minnesota Timberwolves
Green Bay Packers
Marshall Thundering Herd
Los Angeles Dodgers

Having never really looked at the cast outside the big names, I literally just learned like 15 minutes ago that Sloth in The Goonies was played by former Oakland Raider John Matuszak.Boston Red Sox

haven't thought about Tooz in a loong time. Goonies was great especially Sloth but my personal favorite from Matuszak was in Ringo's Starr's Caveman .OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

For all my 43 years I always thought the song My Girl ( Gone, Gone, Gone) was sung by Hall & Oates. To my surprise it isn't. It is by Chilliwack.Comment

The Motel 6 commercial narrator’s name is Tom Bodett?
My whole life I thought he always said: “I’m Tombo Dad, and we’ll leave the light on for ya.”
I thought it was just some screwy fictitious nickname, haha.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Things that took you way too long to realize....
I've been working from home since March (almost a year!). We all brought our work laptops and 2nd monitors with us. Up until a month or so ago I kept my laptop connected to my 2nd monitor at my desk. One of my work friends kept mentioning how she detaches her laptop all the time and works all over the place. I couldn't understand how she got used to just having the one screen. Anyway, a month or so ago I finally detached the laptop and...holy crap, working while laying on your bed is awesome!
Anyway, I'm not saying I was laying on my bed for part of the day posting on OS Forums on my personal laptop while doing work on my work laptop, but I'm not saying I didn't either.
Also, in that song "Don't Bring Me Down" by Electric Light Orchestra, I always thought they were pleading with Bruce to not bring them down, but apparently they're saying "groos" and not "Bruce" (whatever "groos" means). So apologies to any Bruces out there if I assumed you were all a bunch of Debbie Downers.Comment
