Randomly realized that the old CD compilation that I remember seeing commercials for on TV a lot back in the day, titled "Mob Hits," was actually a pun. I knew that the songs were from mob movies like Godfather, Goodfellas, etc, but the "hits" part didn't register as anything other than just hit songs. Didnt even think about someone getting taken out by the mafia.

No clue why I felt like sharing this.

I always thought the song title for Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was an ironic commentary on the passivity of 90's Gen-X teens at the time.

Today I learned that Teen Spirit is/was a brand of deodorant, with the song's title likely coming from Kurt Cobain's then-girlfriend's bandmate (from Bikini Kill, not Courtney Love) writing on his GF's wall, "Kurt smells like Teen Spirit".

TIL "you've got another thing coming" was originally "you've got another think coming." The latter makes more sense, given how it's used.

there's a PF Changs next door to a Barnes & Noble I always notice about 3 times a month when I visit B&N
but I've never eaten there and I never really examined it closely. until yesterday. those 2 giant horse statues outside the front entrance, w/o really looking at them, I just sort of assumed they were elephants. just thinking of Asia, when it comes to animals, I tend to think firstly of tigers and elephants. hope that doesn't make me an animalist lol

I always thought Krauss in Hellboy II was Kelsey Grammer, just found out it's Seth McFarlane. knowing Grammer played Beast in X-Men, it wasn't a huge leap to think he could voice Hellboy's Krauss.
incidentally, Grammers daughter voices Summer in RicK & Morty
