My computer won't go to sleep when idle and if I manually put it to sleep, it just wakes up on its own after a few seconds.

Well, I got moved this weekend. It was a major PITA as I had to unload the Penske truck after driving 10 hours all night in order to be in Tallahassee by the time I needed to be there to get the utilities hooked up and such. Moving heavy objects in the heat and humidity with no sleep was a bad idea, but fortunately nothing got broken!

I am back in NC now and will be here until May 13th (I still have to go to graduation and such), but I have all my stuff down in FL now so everything should pretty much be good to go when I return.

Best Buy and Barnes & Noble are the survivors. Remember Circuit City and Borders?

Fun fact: CC is coming back, but as a limited boutique instead of a superstore model.

It's the mega stores that do this ex: Target and Walmart. They have such strong purchasing power and such massive space, they can offer some of what those previously mentioned stores did, but at better prices still. I think a tech place like BB and CC will be able to survive their continued assault because the tech category is so large and growing. New advancements with TV resolution, 3D printers, and VR will continue to keep them viable. Plus, they go hand-in-hand with e-commerce.

One store that has seemingly everything but you wouldn't think of: Staples. I was in there the other day, and they have a massive aisle of cleaning products. Paper towels, Windex, you name it. I don't know who their competition is since they ate up OfficeMax.

I think were forgetting the 2 ton elephant in the room: Amazon. Wait until Amazon has free next day shipping, which will happen when Amazon ditches UPS and forms their own delivery service. Amazon will eventually have storefronts, They will have pick and pack facilities that are within a days drive of every major american city, and they will destroy every thing in its path.

For better or worse, Amazon will only get bigger, a lot bigger.

In DFW they have free next day delivery. I ordered some headphones and they were on my porch within 12 hours.

We actually decided on... Baton Rouge. We were looking at whatever the town near Abita Brewing was, but I figured hotels would be a little cheaper in BR, and they were.

Looks like LSU will be out of school when we are there (May 20th) so will the bars be pretty low-key? I think we are going to hit Mason's Grill on the way out of town.

Still looking for the trip back, might go a different route and swing through Mississippi. Vicksburg is at the top of our list right now I think.

I've been outside in Tampa for not 3 minutes and I already feel the need to start carrying a towel around with me John Thompson style. I don't understand how people survive in humidity over 8%

I was in Toledo, Ohio 2 weeks ago and it was in the 30s at night. I couldn't get back to Tampa fast enough. I will never complain about how hot it gets down here anymore.....

Oh geez... I'm moving out there for a year starting in July... is this really what I have to look forward to? I hated the humidity during the summer in IOWA.
