      Re: Hurricane Matthew

I'm ok. Whew. The saving grace for us in this area was that the track/storm shifted east. All of the big 120mph + winds were kept off shore and we only had hurricane gusts. Amazingly we didn't loose power except for some flickers during the storm.

When I see what could have been, I'm very thankful for this slight brush. I hope everyone else made it through ok.

We arrived yesterday moring around 11 am for the family Disney trip. Who would have thought when we planned this 6 months ago that the largest hurricane would come through.

Luckily for us we arrived with pretty sunny skies. It got wet a little later and disney closed st 5 aND all day today but I'm happy to say that I think it will be just bad winds and rain for us today.

Hoping everyone else that lives here or nearby are safe.

Hope y'all down this way are staying safe. Of course Verizon got rid of the Weather Channel, so I am stuck with Accuweather which is horrible. Luckily, I can follow via Weather Channel app.

Right now doesn't look for for GA and SC with expected storm surge.

Yeah accuweather sucks. That's what I used to track the storm and they kept saying 30% chance of rain. Smh

been 20-30mph winds here and a ton of rain for the last few hours. sometimes up to 40mph. and projected 50mph in a few hours. a few power outages but it came right back on so thats good. i hope it just stays this way for a while and doesn't get any worse.

Luckily the eye shifted east so we didn't get the brute force of it. I don't think it has officially made landfall anywhere yet has it?

St. Augustine and Jacksonville looks to be hit pretty hard right now with 6 to 9 foot water surges in Jacksonville.

                      Wow, stay safe OSer's.

Here in central NC rain and more rain then how about a little rain. Power went out around noon and to my surprise it came back on around 6:30pm. I'm just hoping it stays on as it's still raining and windy. Tons of roads closed due to flooding and downed trees. Saw a section of I-95 was closed due to flooding. Stay safe out there.
