    Re: The Lego Thread

This thread is fantastic. I love legos and my kids are obsessed with them too. My older 3 are to the point where they don't want dad's helps anymore which sucks lol. But I still have my youngest (who's 3) for a few more years. I remember 2 years ago after Xmas my kids had some gift cards to use at Toy R Us and I snagged 3 sweet sets for myself. Dropped around $135 but it was a killer deal because it should have been around $200. As we were driving home my oldest said, "Dad, you know mom is gonna make you take those back right?" I was all, "No she won't. It's fine. Mom will understand." Well when we got home she asked the kids what they got. Of course they ratted me out with the quickness and she gave me that "Are you ****ing serious" look lol. Needless to say my oldest was right and she returned them that night. Two morals of this story. One, when you are gonna drop some cash on random things you probably should at least mention it to the wife. Happy wife happy life. Two, if you want it anyways don't take you kids with you because they will blab instantly and then there is no way you can sneak it lol.

This was a fun build. I did it at night when I had time. It took me about 10 hrs. Boba is my all time favorite character so I was excited to see this for sale.

That Slave 1 is awesome. A very epic shuttle. It was the 2nd UCS set I built.

So put together the Winter train today. However, the Lego Store dude never told me I needed the controller for the infrared part attached to it. Could have bought it a month ago when I got it at the store. I was elated to hear Lego Stores and Lego Online were completely out of them.

Amazon Prime to the rescue yet again. One should be here Monday or Tuesday. Another Prime success story!

I added the Power Functions to my winter train last week. Love the way it moves.

I added a train station to my village yesterday. I bought the City Train Station and added some Christmas elements to it like wreaths and a tree. I think it looks pretty festive. Also made some railroad crossings. Not the greatest quality pic because it was dark because of all the rain this weekend.

I have been watching reviews of the new Lego Batman Movie sets. Man, some of those sets look awesome. May have to get some. The Penguin's Arctic Roller car set looks amazing. Lego Store exclusive.

I know. I really like the Arkham one. But I don't let myself get the Superhero sets even though I think they are very cool. I have to limit myself to Star Wars and lately the occasional city or architecture sets.

I am leaning towards the Penguin Arctic Roller and Joker Lowrider.

Alright guys, I finally finished my Lego Christmas Village for this year. Obviously the biggest thing was getting the tunnel for the train to go through and then also adding some extra cars to the train itself. The forums over at eurobricks.com are amazing for ideas on things to do. Here's a video that takes you through the village (I'm no pro at the video camera, sorry for the shakiness!). I've got some photos of it too that give you a better look too that I'll post soon.

Dude! That looks amazing! I can't tell you how much joy I got watching that. So awesome. There is just something so fun and innocent about Lego. I loved it. Gonna show my son later.

Taking my son to a Brick Building event at a mall near me tomorrow. The mall is opening a Legoland Discovery Center in the spring. This weekend they are having a competition to determine who will be the Discovery Center Master Builder. Should be fun. Get to watch the championship round and they are having set giveaways too. Will post some pics tomorrow after the event.

I went to the Legoland Discovery Center in Chicago this past May. Was a really cool place.
