Just read that the guy who played the dad on Home Alone died.

On that note, stumbled upon some random facts about the first home alone movie which were interesting. Apparently the rumored original scrip was that Uncle Frank hired Marv/Harry to rob his brothers house while they were out on vacation and wanted them to kill Kevin. And the infamous power outage causing them to be almost late was actually supposed to be because he cut the power. So much for that being a family movie lol.

Though I always thought if they ever do a real continuation of the original series, make it something crazy like Kevin becomes the bad guy(or that ends up being the big reveal of the whole movie is that Marvs new partner ends up being Kevin)

How incredibly morbid! That never would have flown as a family movie haha.

On that note, have you ever seen Home Alone 5? I actually thought it was pretty good. You can read my impressions here.

Any suggestions for household gift ideas? So far I've just thought of ones like vegetable chopper which chops everything from onions to tomatoes and even cheese. Also, a peeler for potatoes, apples, carrots and so on.

So something along those lines preferably. Nothing too big either. Both those, while real useful for people who cook, cost under $25 combined, and are popular makes of those items on amazon.

Towels are always a safe bet.

Anything outdoorsy such as a blower, extention cords, garden hoses, etc. is good too.

RIP Chester Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park. Apparently committed suicide late last week. I don't listen to them as much anymore, but I was a huge fan of that band when I was younger.

Anyone got any advice?

Starting off at a new job, but so far I haven't really done anything. It's just been day after day, killing time, doing absolutely nothing. Can't really browse like going on a site like this since I share a room with someone else and they got a clear view of my monitor(not that I think they're watching it 99% of the time anyways).

Every now and then I might get the smallest of tasks, but that's really it. Supervisor doesn't entirely check in so often(I probably could just leave early since the supervisor leaves before my day is done), and it'd be annoying if I have to constantly go to them every single time I'm looking for something new to do because I finished the last thing they asked. No real sense of direction at my job right now and nothing I've been given has me feeling like I could spend the entire day doing it. Though I also don't wanna seem like they don't need me either since it is a contract position and I don't want hours/days or contract term itself to get cut or anything.

Sure, it's nice just collecting a paycheck while doing nothing at all, but those 8 hours go by so slowly, I've honestly never been so bored before in my life. It's a small building too, and like I said, I'm stuck in a room with someone else too so I don't really have anywhere to walk around or anywhere to go(the place doesn't even have a break room).

Sure, it's nice just collecting a paycheck while doing nothing at all, but those 8 hours go by so slowly, I've honestly never been so bored before in my life. It's a small building too, and like I said, I'm stuck in a room with someone else too so I don't really have anywhere to walk around or anywhere to go(the place doesn't even have a break room).

is it against protocol to ask the person you share the room with if theres anything you can help them with?
