did you let her know that you like Doug?

if she knows old dudes like something she'll automatically dislike it

you gotta be like "ugh, is this one of the kid shows you like?" and she'd probably be all over it and you could secretly enjoy it too

Re: Off Topic 2017: Fallen Kingdom

The only thing with a show like Doug that I can understand they don't like is the simple pleasantries of life being displayed. He writes, draws, and hangs outside with his friends on a skateboard or at the Honker Burger. These days, everything is Smartphone/social media related. Basically, technology. The other half of that is everyone inspiring to be famous in their own little way. iCarly, Jessie, Victorious, etc. are all about claims to fame, either as singers or bloggers or what have you. That's this generation's culture, and I'm sure a lot of the shows reflect that as well.

I was channel surfing in my hotel room earlier this week, and ran across a Nickelodeon cartoon called The Loud House. I was immediately hooked. The art is pretty nostalgic (though of course is digital and not hand drawn) and the writing is just really good. The show relies on a lot of puns in the dialogue, but if you are okay with that I think you'll like the show. It's a massive family so I don't really know all of the characters at this point, but I think if I invested enough time into it that it would be a show worth watching. Most of all, it doesn't run with the fads that I mentioned above and is a lot more old school.

The only current Nick/Disney cartoon that is still active today that I was into is SpongeBob SquarePants. The issue is that after Season 3/4, the show went to garbage. If they kept making episodes and returned it to its glory days, I would still be watching that all of the time. Season 3 was an all-time classic for sure.

Rugrats and Angry Beavers are two Nickelodeon shows that I'll still laugh at today. Mostly due to growing up with them.

            Last day of long weekend

Sure, 4 day week, but the first day going back after a long weekend and/or vacation is always so hard.

As a young kid, watching The Love Boat, I was 100% convinced that Captain Stubing was singing the opening theme song. Nothing would change my mind back then.

The long wait. Both packages came early today, but since nobody is home, I'm hoping if they did drop it off instead of just leaving a pickup slip, they left it in safe spot. Having it sitting there for several hours possibly right on my doorstep is a big risk.

Would be nice if it's not the mailman I've had recently who dropped it off. Last thing I ordered, even though I was home(car was right there in driveway), he didn't even bother giving me any time to open the door. He dropped the item on doorstep(if it rained,it would've been ruined) and left. Luckily I was checking so often that day so I got it before the rain came.

Were you able to state specific instructions to the delivery service regarding your packages?

I didn't. Not sure if instructions when ordering from a site itself was for the shipping people or delivery people. Though it's common sense isn't it? If someone isn't home, leave the package between the screen door and the main door. Or if it can fit, leave it in the mailbox. My old mailman used to do this all the time and it was great. Package placed between screendoor on my driveway where nobody could see. So even if those salespeople come knocking,or someone just walks past the house, they do so at the front, not side.

I doubt someone stole it, more of probably just delivering it to wrong house, but last year I saw some random person walk down the street and drop off a package at my house. Others had also come by at various points in year to drop off regular mail. Besides that, nothing had ever been stolen, but I wanna try and avoid it ever happening.

I'm sure it's nothing anyways, just me randomly venting about nothing to kill the next few hours while I wait lol

I was reading an article yesterday that said Tuesday is the worst day of the week based on a study(for people that work M-F anyway). So I googled it and there's actually a bunch of articles stating that. The reasons listed were things like at least Monday's you're well rested from the weekend and you're still shifting from weekend mode to weekday mode, the "weekend high hasn't yet worn off on Monday's." It said by Tuesday you're now well into the work week, the previous weekends memories are further away, and the following weekend isn't yet in sight.

Anyone agree? I don't. Both days suck from a 'back to work, weekend is still far away' standpoint, but for me clocking in on a Tuesday is way easier than doing it on Monday. At least by Tuesday you have one day down.

                            Mondays have worst mornings
                            Tuesdays have worst afternoons/evenings

Wednesday lunch is typically midpoint of week, Thursday you're getting close to weekend, and obviously don't need to explain Friday. Tuesday afternoon, you're into full work mode, but still have majority of week left to go.

I really feel like Monday is a mental thing unless your job is drastically different on Monday than any other day. I will agree with Tuesday being the worst for the reasons given. But I'll endure it for #TacoTuesday.

Not asking about the worst day of the week, but I even polled my students and asked if they preferred Friday or Sunday (assuming that on Friday you have school, maybe even tests).

Friday was almost unanimously favored, including for myself. Sure, NFL Sundays are great and so is waking up late, but for these students and myself as a teacher, we "take our work home with us," so Sunday turns into a stress kind of day, especially when you also have to go to bed earlier.
