    Thanks Mike.

We are going to do it this Saturday. Told him that Santa knows he was sick and is sending him a special gift via his Elf on the Shelf and that it will be here Saturday and we will open his gifts then.

    He's so excited.

Wow!! I’m assuming that’s an Etsy find? So cool.

CB, that sucks man but sounds like you’re making the best of it. My little one will be a little over 2 next year, so hopefully he’s in to it. He actually spiked a serious fever last week (the irony of going to the doctor for a regular checkup and then getting sick) but made a quick recovery in time for the festivities.

Yeah we are making it work.

Glad your little one recovered quickly enough to enjoy Christmas.

It’s from a company called Lumberlend Co. No idea how he found it, but I’m happy he did. I’m going to order a few more.

That's awesome! My wife did something similar for me last year, but used my old FSU, NY Giants and Mets shirts.

Really bummed as he is 2 and was really understanding the idea/concept of Christmas and Santa.

My 14 month old’s molars decided to start coming in on Xmas. We all came downstairs and my 4 year old ran to the tree with all her toys while my 14 month old ran to the breakfast table lol. She was cranky as hell until the baby oragel kicked in.

Trees are down and almost all of the decoration are stored away for another 10 months. We left the garland and lights up on the banisters because it is such a dark time of year and the lights look nice.

My daughter keeps asking "where's Santa"? She's a chip off the old block. It was a great Christmas and as always, I enjoyed sharing it with you all.

New Years day seems to wrap up the Christmas Season for most people (except for my Orthodox brothers and sisters), so let me wish you all one last Merry Christmas.

                  Merry Christmas.

                    Christmas 2017

We celebrated Christmas part II with my son on Saturday due to him being sick on actual Christmas. He had a blast. He was so into Christmas and understood the concept that it was a very enjoyable experience to watch. He kept saying, "Santa brought this to me. I was good so Santa brought me this!"

While the holidays were rough this year without my mom, my son being at this age and having an understanding of Christmas helped ease the pain.

I know its a week or so past, but let me say Merry Christmas once again. See you guys in the Christmas 2018 thread.

Your story put a smile on my face, countryboy. And that's saying something because I'm an extremely cynical person. I'm glad your son enjoyed the do-over and that his enjoyment lifted you up. That's really nice to hear.

                        Re: Christmas 2017

I'm always sad to see the Christmas season go. This year it seemed to go by faster than ever. Our 11 month old son got to experience his first Christmas and it was amazing to see. We did 3 Christmases this year in 2 days and while exhausting, it was really fun to see him tear open presents and play with his toys.

We watched a lot of Christmas cartoons together as well. I am not sad however to not have to watch the Thomas The Train or Daniel Tiger Christmas DVD's over and over anymore. At least, not until next Christmas.

My family and I all had a great Christmas and we all got a lot of nice gifts. I am very grateful for the people in my lives.

Merry Orthodox/Little Christmas or Happy 12th day of Christmas. I know a lot of people that celebrate today, so I’m wishing them the happiest of Christmas.

This is also a day where a lot of people take down their Christmas decorations.

I took down indoor stuff on new years, but I would take down outside stuff if it wasn't colder here than it is in the Arctic.

We take down our outdoor stuff in March. We turn the lights off in a few weeks. We keep it simple. Looks like we get a break in the weather next week.
