Macys 4th of July Fireworks tonight! Obviously I don't celebrate the 4th of July, but I saw this special a few years ago and have watched it every year since. It's a great thing to watch with an orchestra playing the entire time and fireworks going off basically nonstop


Really does put Canadian celebrations to shame with their $100 budget events because apparently TV networks and corporations(ironically, the big corporations in this country are the ones who own the TV networks) don't want to do anything special, not even for New Years. I can't even find actual Canadian New Years celebrations hosted by any TV network.

Fun fact but I worked one summer for the fireworks company that used to fill the order for the Macy's spectacle. There were 5 of us that did the order of over one million shells. Took two months of 60 hour weeks to put it together. The week of the fourth we worked everyday for 12 hours.

Not sure about the legality (it should be illegal if it isn't), but it seems like a dumb thing to do. Pull off and park somewhere to meet up, meet up at your intended destination, let them reel you in from behind (while still in motion), or don't get separated in the first place if you are trying to convoy. Whenever people are running reds or stopping on greens, they are disrupting the flow of traffic around them. Traffic only works if other people are doing the things you expect them to be doing and you are doing the things they expect you to be doing; parking at a green light is not what anyone would expect.

Why not slow down on your way to the light instead? Or like WTNY said, pull over.

I guess I should clarify it wasn't me doing it. There is a light at a four-way intersection nearest my house that I was stopped at, and my end tends to run green plenty long. Meanwhile there is another light that won't even have its turn at green unless there is a car there, and once it enters the intersection it will work toward red.

Anyway, yesterday evening there was someone sat at there for quite a while. I couldn't see inside the car so I didn't know if they were texting or what, but once they went about eight seconds later, there was a car that approached close behind and caught the light with him. It made me think that maybe they were together or something, but that could have also been total coincidence.

I just wondered if that was a legal action to begin with.

I only I knew people who wanted to buy giftcards. I have a mini collection over the years to places I don't even go to. I want to sell it, but at the same time, don't want to just get ripped off. Tried selling it online, but people lowball so much, or try scamming by asking for the card number (In other words, if anyone gives it to them, they can enter it and make an online purchase without buying the card)



Long midnight story short, I have giftcards to a clothes store(that I never shop at/got expensive stuff I don't care for), Starbucks(I've never gone there in my life) and abunch for a bookstore(only positive about this store is that they do sell electronics. To bad iPads are several hundred dollars. Though they also do have Google Homes, Smart thermostats, Samsumg VR(2016 model) although I don't have a Samsung phone so that probably won't work lol.

dude, at one point today I saw the app on my phone say the "feels like" temp was 119!


I have a method of cooling him down by holding a freezer pack to his belly for about 20 seconds and then moving it to another spot so it doesn't bother his skin. He's doing well and I appreciate the thought



He's not happy with the lack of toy times though haha

Such a weird work week. Worked Monday and Tuesday. Off yesterday for the 4th of July. Work today and tomorrow.

It's like having 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in the same week.

My wife and i just had this exact conversation. It is weird. But we took Monday and Tuesday off, and had yesterday off for the fourth. So today definitely feels like a Monday, with tomorrow being Friday.

Haven't been to best buy since at least 2017,if even then(most of my tech shopping is done online, or at a different store because they often have same things cheaper, and it's more for people who know what they're looking for). They have Boxing Day sales lol. That's why I went . Got memory card and drive under $30 combined.

The confusing part, they've changed the entire layout of the store. It reminds me of a mini Ikea. You can't walk a straight line for most of the store. Each aisle /shelf is so small, you're walking around in a maze basically.

Took me a good 20 minutes to find 2 items. Eventually I asked one of the people and they told me where to go. Flash drives were in the printer and ink section? Memory cards are on a single shelf, hidden near the smart home section.

The item on the shelf wasn't even the item on sale. It's same make and drive size, but different somehow. Took an employee 10 minutes to go and get the right one, so clearly they have it hidden somewhere until after the sale ends, which is what I hate when stores do that.

The entryway to the CVS I always go to is on the corner of the building with 2 sets of sliding glass doors, one set opening to the street on the adjacent wall opening to the parking lot. Today I was walking out of the store into the entryway toward the street-side doors when a couple people walked in the street site doors then just crossed the entryway (cutting across my path in the process) and right out the parking lote-side doors. Seriously? What was the point of that? Are you really that lazy that you can't walk a few extra steps to go around the corner without cutting through the entryway of the building?

I actually do have a window AC right now, it's just not strong enough to recycle the apartment air well enough during the major heat waves. Sucks that it works the least when I need it the most, but we survive

Very upset with myself right now. I was chatting with a colleague in the hallway while he was holding onto a label maker (we are moving to a new building and boxing up lab equipment and stuff). And I didn't even squeeze off ONE joke about re-gifting a Label Baby Jr. Rarely does life present you such a slam dunk of an opportunity and you throw it off the back iron instead.
