My car isn't a POS, but isn't expensive or new either. I wash it maybe 3-4 times per year, mostly at the car wash and not in my pathetic excuse for a driveway. Usually once or twice in the winter I will get fed up with all the salt on it and cave. I'm not one of those guys who seems to enjoy washing/drying/waxing the car.

It sounds like you just kind of put it off into the future. Which is kind of like procrastinating.... Which staaaaarts to explain your mysterious username.....

I used to be hardcore about keeping my vehicle clean, but considering it rains a good 4-5 days a week anymore, it's just not worth wasting time to do it. I do make sure I get a good wash every spring and fall to at least get a good coat of wax on.

My car is in a parking garage so I don't wash it too often...maybe once a month.

Twice a week inside and out, sometimes more in the winter months due to the amount of salt on the roads. I used to detail cars at a dealer as a teenager, so I’m way more anal about keeping a car clean than most are. Everything including the door jambs and what not get cleaned.

I will judge if you keep a dirty car. Absolutely hate getting inside someone’s car and having to sit in their filth. My mind immediately goes to they must have a dirty *** house too. I’m not saying go crazy like me with it. But at least have a little respect for the things that you own.

I agree that the inside of a car should be kept reasonably neat and clean. I do that by basically not doing much eating/drinking in there if at all possible. That right there is like 90% of the battle.

unless you have a convertible, the weather wont clean the inside of your vehicle lol

I count maintaining the interior & washing the outside as 2 distinct & separate chores. You have to constantly stay on top of things inwardly because the rain isnt going to assist you there

                  As for my actual process:

                  1) Suds soak/bath - I have a Chemical Guys Foam Blaster and use with Chemical Guys Mr. Pink. Just a quick suds bath to get the surface wet and get off anything that is already loose.

                  2) Wash the car by hand - I use a mitt to wash the body of the car and two separate brushes to wash the tires and rims. Two bucket method (one with soap - I use Meguiar's Gold Class - and the other with a grit guard and water for rinsing). I do the roof, hood, front bumper, rear, sides and each section I go over by hand twice.

                  3) Drying - Depending upon my energy level I'll use some waffle towels to towel up any excess water. I recommend this if your paint is prone to spotting or if your water source is hard and spots everything up.

                  4) Windows - I wash them while washing the car, but I also go back and clean them with a window cleaner and microfiber rag.

                  5) Touch up - Of course you're gonna miss a spot. I'll usually go back (typically in the evening or whenever the car surface is cool) and clean any noticeable spots with a quick detailer and microfiber rag.
Only 1-2 times every 2 weeks? Lazy. I wash my car 4-5 times a day, until my arms cramp and I pass out in my driveway. Like a man.

No, but if you roll all 4 windows down and open the back window, and hit 70mph on the freeway for about 5 minutes, it does wonders for old fast food bags, junk mail and even some dust.

Totally agree, inside of your car must, must be spotless. Cannot stand getting in someone's car and have the feeling of needing a shower when I get out.

Rolling the car a few times will help jar some of the deep down stuff loose too.

I prefer the idea of disposable cars. So we don't have to clean them.

Don't feel too bad as I don't do it myself. There is a mom and pop car wash in my town that I have it done at.

If it relied on me to do it, it would be lucky to be once a month.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Oh, I don't do it myself either. There are car washes all over the place near me. I'm just abjectly lazy.

I also don't do it anywhere near once a month. I realize that was an overstatement on my part. Although I suppose I did have the qualifier "at best".....
