If it's an accident and it's quickly rectified, who really cares? It's not like it's anything every kid in that class hasn't seen already. No one's really harmed by it.

This post is pretty damn ignorant and naive of how one thinks administration/kids/parents work. If you can't see the multiple other perspectives in that scenario then idk......

I honestly didn't think you were being serious.

Yes, we live in a weird ultra sensitive place now.

Yes, that was an honest mistake, and one that adults can chuckle at with ease.


That said, playing telephone with freshman in highschool is a terrifying thing for a teachers career and that could be disastrous if he didn't get out in front of it.

It doesn't take much for what actually happened to turn into something drastically different.

Just saw a long streaking light go across the sky. It was bright and was about two feet long from my perspective. Never seen anything like it.

You out in the Philippines, right? Doesn’t surprise me you’d see some interesting lights in the sky in that region.

How’s the light pollution at your resort? My mental image is it’s free of lights everywhere, but I’m probably off base. I’ve never actually been to a tropical resort.

I think there's a misunderstanding of my comment. I completely understand how sensitive parents and administrators are, especially in a school setting. You can't even joke around when it comes to kids. People have been let go for far less. That's why I agreed w/ the prior comment that he should get out ahead of it (which he did) by notifying the administration of what happened. Can't be too careful about this stuff.

What I was commenting on was the general state of hyper-acute reaction from administrators and parents when it comes to stuff like this. Everything is a 5-alarm fire now, and we live in a time where classes can't have Halloween parties because 1 kid's parents didn't "celebrate" Halloween and called in to the principle because they didn't want their kid to feel excluded. My comment was a reaction to the current state of "everything is a huge problem", and nothing seems to just get shrugged off as not a big deal. It's not like these were first-graders we were talking about.

But yes, I do understand that anything relating to kids/school/administration is a big deal.
