Any coffee drinkers in here? Relative newbie, but looking to better my home brew cups.

Look into pour over or French press. Just look up YT videos on how to do it then experiment to come up with your favorite. You can get a set up for either pretty cheap then get a nicer one once you figure out what you like.Comment

I was mainly thinking about what beans/brands to buy, difference between roasts, etc.

re: Off-Topic
If you really want the best, find a local place that knows what they're doing, roasts their own beans, and will teach you the right techniques. The people who own those places are coffee nerds and will be eager to share their knowledge.Comment

re: Off-Topic
I've never found much of a huge difference between brands. I generally go to the grocery store and just fill the beans in the bag with whatever brand they are serving at the moment.
I will say though that I do notice a difference when I grind my own beans versus buying them pre-ground so that's where I would start if I were you.
Grinders can be bought pretty cheaply. I grind them the night before and the coffee pot is pre-set to be brewed when I'm up.Comment

I don't drink coffee. Don't mind the smell much but drinking it is a different story.

re: Off-Topic
When our company was purchased by CoStar one of the first things they did was to add a coffee machine to the kitchen. Tried a couple and became a habit. The wife had gotten rid of her Keurig a couple years ago and had been wanting a coffee brewer so we bought one and I've just been trying different things. So far, I like dark roasts and can drink it black depending on what it is.
