Re: Off-Topic
Just realized we have Friday the 13th in October this year..
Only the 2nd time it's happened in October since 2007.
That should be fun for anyone wanting to do Halloween themed things.
No full moon though or else that would've been a real rare occasion (apparently last time it happened was October 2000).Comment

Lol I just got told I need to slow down from posting new threads on another forum, even though it's not even a rule. Like...okay? Isn't that the whole point of forums?Last Movie Watched: Morbius (2022).

Re: Off-Topic
Random thing I've been thinking.
With Netflix further increasing prices and YouTube trying to further block ad blockers, will there be a point where a notable amount people just stop using them?
Like the people who are so used to using ad blockers, if YouTube is actually successful in blocking them and people are forced through ads, would those people just stop using YouTube or would they suck it up and have ads (assuming nobody else is able to "block" YouTube's ad blocking stuff)?
And Netflix, people already stopped using it after the password sharing crackdown, but would even more stop with prices going up ontop of cracking down on sharing the account?Comment

Re: Off-Topic
There is a tipping point. Not sure where it is. I’ve reached it on some of the streaming service prices. Netflix going over $20 isn’t worth it to me. At least with Paramount or Peacock I have access to CBS or NBC too. Netflix is just their stuff, and their stuff isn’t all that great save a couple shows a year, if that.
Problem is, the user base is there. It takes an active approach to cancel. Most will just keep letting it charge their card. That was always the promise of these tech companies. Get users or die trying, then figure out how to suck as much money out of them as possible. We are in to the second phase. We’ll see how much is too much. Will probably never be a mass exodus.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: Off-Topic
Isn't the trick with these streaming services to do a 1 month (2?) thing where you say "ok this month is going to be Netflix and I'm going to watch everything I want from it now and then I will cancel". Rinse and repeat with other services.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
But there are still (somehow) people out there who have Netflix and just watch whatever new things are on there every month. Usually 1 month is enough for me to realize I don't need to subscribe beyond that.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
Right now on YouTube I just get a black screen with a spinning circle for about 10-15 seconds where the ad would be then it goes into the video. That's just with a basic ad blocker. Nothing fancy. Don't know if this will change.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
After a while you get the black screen and it says you will only be able to watch 3 videos or something like that, but for me it went away, not sure why.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment
