Re: Off-Topic
I'll watch other teams too, but its harder to watch other games with no crowd. That's one thing I love about playoffs, having fans of whoever is home team going crazy and hanging on every play.
We still have NFL, but it's just 1 day a week.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
They do, but I feel like they've been forced on everyone simply because they're the closest team to the city.
I refuse to cheer for them. The Bills are too much like a Toronto team (in a bad way). Last thing I want is another bad team to cheer for.
Which is why I first started cheering for the Packers. They're like the Leafs, but done right.Last edited by Majingir; 10-01-2020, 08:55 PM.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
Oh don't get me wrong, I love/hate the Lions as much as anyone (anyone in the metro-Detroit area, anyway), but everyone I know from Southeastern Michigan is united in hating the Packers. I hate 'em. I want them to lose every game including pre-season games. If there is a kid's league using the Packer uniforms/color scheme, I root against them. I hate it all.
What I hate even worse are the western Michigan or UP people who root for the Bears or Packers. I mean, I get it, but it drives me nuts to see people in my artificially-defined tribe root for a team from a different, neighboring artificially-defined tribe. It's complete BS and I won't stand for it.Comment

Living on the Treasure Coast of Florida, you run into the weekly FSU/Miami/UF fans who switch with a small bit of UCF, FIU, FAU fans in between.Last edited by LambertandHam; 10-07-2020, 02:21 PM.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
Seems like it gets brought up all the time, but could we see the end of time changes?
Seems like Ontario is on board with making daylight savings time permanent, IF Quebec and more importantly NY state do it too.
And if NY does it, I'm guessing everyone will.
So if I understand this, that means it'll get dark later in the day, but sun rises later too? Depending on where you live, in the winter you could have sunrises anywhere from 8-9am, and sunsets closer to 6pm (as opposed to 7-8am sunrise and 4-5pm sunsets).
I like late sunsets, but hate late sunrises, so I'm mixed on that. I guess I probably prefer it being dark earlier in evening vs dark later in morning, simply because it just feels way more depressing waking up and still having it be so dark outside.
I've gone to work in middle of winter where it wasn't even sunrise yet and it just felt so weird. Feels like you should still be sleeping. Coming home in the dark isn't as bad because by time I'm home, I'm winding down anyways, and no real reason to be outside, so who cares if it gets dark at 6pm or 5pm. Then again, if it's days where I'm not leaving home until after 9am, it might as well have a late sunrise so...Comment

Re: Off-Topic
Daylight savings time should be permanent. I've literally never heard a good argument for why it shouldn't be.
(edit: I guess what I really mean is one or the other time should be permanent. I've never heard a good argument for why the changing of the time should still be a thing.)Comment

Re: Off-Topic
I'd like to hear from Arizonans how they feel about no daylight savings. I think we'd be alright w/o one or the other (either Daylight Saving or Standard), as a mostly whole, we've only been observing DS since 1966OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Imagine how weird it will be explaining DST to future generations.
"Yes it's true, we all had non digital clocks we had to manually change the time of, and everyone just accepted it. Think its 2am right now? Wrong, it goes from 1:59am to 3am. And in the fall we relive 1am twice in the same day."
