Just finished getting tested for antibodies for a second time, this time through my employer (City of New York).

Free of charge, and they pulled blood right from the vein in my left arm. My reason is that god forbid anything happens down the line, I’ll be covered.

Exactly. Keeping people that you don't ever see and rarely actually talk to working together, keeping your teams cohesive and sharp, all without 'micromanaging' or being constantly in the weeds yourself, can be a challenge. I've done it and it works okay if you have an already-established working relationship with your teams (mostly because you have already had the chance to set expectations and everyone has a sense of how others on the team work), but IMO, even the best teams start to lose productivity during WFH over time.

A woman who has been taking hydroxychloroquine to manage her lupus (a use it has been approved for) still caught COVID-19

She took precautions when leaving the house for the grocery store, but thought she would be safe because of what President Donald Trump has said about the drug.

There's no surprise there, no one ever said it was a vaccine. She got better and didn't have to go on a ventilator even though she has preexisting conditions. Did it help? We really don't know, but she didn't die even with that low of oxygen #s.

Nothing helps her being stupid and making up a vaccine. I'm sure the whole article was written for a reason since there was no reason for an article to be written unless you are pushing an agenda. You could write a story about how covid isn't prevented by wearing a mask.

I think some people are taking it as a vaccine. I won't mention names, but what have you got to lose? Hydro. Xychloro. Quine.

Ha, 1000 opinionated articles on the reasons why to wear a mask, and 999 opinionated articles that mask aren't worth the cloth the droplets you sneeze into it are worth it.

I backed off on op ed's and my life is much calmer.

I agree it helps, but it's not a vaccine, you can still get it while wearing a mask.

Sorry, my sarcasm isn't working very well today.

My point was you have many opinion pieces on both sides of the fence and who do you believe?

This study says 90% of droplets caught and that study says 75% droplets caught, etc......

This is a good video that goes into how many people are needed for herd immunity and vaccines based on different simulations. It’s not really COVID related but gives a understanding of it.

Interesting; we went to the grocery store tonight and for the first time since all this started it was packed (haven’t been to the grocery store since the state reopened last Friday). The other thing I noticed is that last time I was there 95% of people were wearing a mask; today maybe 20-25% were wearing a mask. Interesting how quickly people are just getting back to “normal”.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

I'm not directing this at anyone in particular. Between some of the comments I've seen here, and certainly various instances around the country that have made headlines, the stance to not wear a mask just seems kind of silly.

Someone mentioned a few pages back that you could get pink eye from someone farting and in front of you. Sure, but would you rather they do it with a barrier of pants in between you or free and clear? Neither method is full proof, but one certainly carries more risk of infection. It's kind of like practicing good hygiene. Just because you wash your hands doesn't mean you won't get covid or some other illness, but you're more likely to catch something if you don't.

I've seen everything from arguing against the science that supports it to challenging it as an encroachment on our civil liberties and it's just so peculiar to me that so many coast to coast are choosing this as their hill to die on (pun intended). If you wear a mask and the not-yet-verified science is wrong then the worst you've done is cover up your pretty face in public and dealt with the minor discomfort associated with wearing one whenever you go out. If it does help, even in just some small way, then take that percentage that it helps and multiply it by the 330 million people in this country. Just kind of shocking that this is what has people up in arms.

Report today out of Georgia that 15% of the covid tests that have been reported here were actually just antibody tests. I haven't yet seen what does to our percentage of positive cases.

Heading out tomorrow to do a two week or so shopping, I can see myself wearing my mask this time again, just for over caution. In June? It depends on my area.

I've personally stopped following it all together, aside from keeping up with the Back on Track Indiana so I can see what is open and what isn't.

I've gone back to normal activities while being aware of surroundings and doing my part to best protect myself.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I just don't get the attitude about not wearing a mask in a store. If the store or employees want people to do it, why wouldn't people respect that and wear a mask? It seems like the least we can do to give them some solace while they're working and keeping the economy going.
