So am I the only one having this problem? Im using Firefox 3 I think it is if that helps at all. Its loading slow again today so its not getting any better on my end. I dont know what to do if nobody is going to address it and it wont fix itself other then start going elsewhere I guess but thats not really something Im interested in doing. Hope someone can address this and get it fixed for me soon as I cant imagine Im the only one on here having this problem.

We're certainly doing whatever we can to avoid slow downs. It is important to understand though that any slow down you do experience is a result of a slow server outside of our network. It could be a slow ad server or stats server causing the problems.

The trouble we face when we attempt to fix these problems is that due to the geo-targeted ads that we run the ads that you are seeing in your part of the world will be vastly different to the ads I am seeing, to the ads Steve is seeing and to the ads most other visitors are likely seeing as well. Pin pointing the one bad ad server (we serve ads from literally 100's of different ad servers) is extremely difficult. Most of the time the ad servers run well, but on the odd occasion that they do not, then yes, some people get stuck with slow down issues.

We're working with our major ad provider on a solution that will ensure that the entire page loads before any ads are served. This means that if there is ever another slow loading ad server, it will not affect your OS viewing experience since the entire page will already be loaded before the ad is called.

Im actually using Ad-Block Plus if that makes a difference, its still really slow no matter what I do. Ohh well, it was worth mentioning and maybe it helps get something fixed in the end. I dont see ad's so its a little difficult for me to say which one it is that is causing me problems, thanks for letting me know though.

There is a chance that it is the ad blocker causing the slow down.

Turned off Ad-Block Plus and it still takes forever to load so I dont think thats it.

I dont get it, nobody is saying anything at all, hopefully someone fixes this asap, if it makes a difference I have the same problem over at MM when I go there. Ive tried turning off the Ad-Block Plus as well as using IE instead of Firefox and nothing has changed at all. Im clueless, hopefully someone with some more knowledge on things like this can figure this out or give me some ideas as to what to check on my end to attempt to fix it.

Did you ever try to use another computer on the same internet line? What ISP do you have? Did you ever try a tracert?

1. Havent but I will and can report back if there is any change.
2. Comcast Cable Internet
3. No idea what tracert even is but I can look it up and check that out.

EDIT-

1. Checked and nothing. I used another laptop on the same home network and it was just as slow, we finally stopped after it had already taken 2+ minutes to load with no sign of it ending anytime soon.

2. Same as above.

3. I have absolutly no idea what this is. I clearly am not as CPU savy as some of you guys and I dont have a clue what Im doing even when I looked up info on it. The best I can guess is it tells me something about the path it takes when sending packets of information back and forth but I dont have a clue what Im looking at or how to use this application.

Let me know if there is anything else I can provide, Ive now tried multiple computers, IE, Firefox, Ad-Block Plus on and off, reboot, clearing my cache/cookies so I dont know what else to try at this point.

I dont know if something was done behind the scenes but OS is lightning fast now, that long delay is gone so far and everything is loading quicker then it did before. So, if anyone did anything to help me with this, thanks, I really appreciate it.

EDIT- I spoke too soon, it was really fast for a little bit but its right back to going really slow. I dont know, maybe its getting fixed or slowly getting better but as of right now its back to crawling along again.

I want to add that when it really slows down the links on the left side of the page, ie. The Content, The Industry etc, dont load either for awhile. When this happens, at the bottom of the screen it says something about waiting on Operation Sports, once they finally load then it goes into the whole waiting on the a.collective-media.net thing so it seems like there are two hurdles. When the links on the left load quickly then it almost 100% of the time loads the page quickly as well.

They both loaded quickly with no problems, OS on the other hand is still giving me problems and loading really slow.

Yes, in both IE and Firefox. On rare occasions it will work just fine and I can always tell when thats going to happen as the links on the left side of the page load right away, but at the same time when they dont load right away I know its going to take awhile before everything loads on the page. I dont know, I give up, Im fresh out of ideas so someone here much smarter then myself will have to give me an idea since I dont know what else to try at this point.

a.collective-media.net is our ad server. I'll report this to the ad company again to see what can be done.
