When was this rule changed? I was cited for political content in my signature in June 2007.

I think it was 2002-3. I want to be clear: What I'm referring is simply someone having "Yes We Can" or "McCain 08" in a sig or avatar. People were warned in the past for having sigs like "I hate Dems" or "9/11 is Bush's fault" but thats more because people could find those offensive than being political in nature.

Its the same line mods and staff draw with trolling or offensive language where it depends on the actual statement. Maybe OS is taking a broader approach with applying this rule but I was just wondering why.

That's the way to go. Just add one forum at the bottom of the list - no rules. No moderation. See how it goes

I've seen the Avy's and never had a problem with them...whether or not they were supporting my candidate.

I dont think I've ever seen anyone called out on it or an argument arise from them...oh well se la vie

also I hadnt noticed any political stuff, but whatever. Not sure what harm a picture of a candidate would cause but I guess thats the direction this board has been taking.
