I have the same problem so normally I run with one team where I play most games (normally Chelsea) and I just straight manage one team. Currently I use VfL Wolfsburg and have somehow managed to turn them into a legit threat in the Bundesliga in just 2 full seasons. Team looks great so far but the board currently wants me to win the league over Bor. Dortmund and FC Bayern. I don't think I am at that level yet.

Well, I qualified for the group stages, 0-2 and 1-1 against Everton, so that's fun. More European adventures this evening!

Edit: Forgot to add my EL Group: AC Milan, Olympiakos, and Funchal. Knockout qualification is going to be quite tough with my small squad, I picked up a couple young CB free agents on deadline day to hopefully give my main guys some breaks along the way.

Crashed out of Europe with a whopping 0 points.

Signed Morten Gamst Pedersen in January to fill in the midfield holes that have been caused by injuries.

Still on track to qualify for Europe again next season, currently sitting in 3rd place after 19 games (7 points from the lead and 3 points from 2nd), and recently advanced to the semifinal of the Braathens Cup.

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

          Hat-trick post.

Braathens Cup - beat then-2nd place Rosenborg 2-0 in the semifinal, then beat title-winners Molde 3-2 in the 100' to lift the cup. (It looks like a big silver vase)

Tippeligaen - Finished 2nd, 4 points behind Molde, qualifying for the Europa League group stages directly, now my board expects me to reach the quarterfinal (and win the league). Now if they would just give me some funds to build a squad that can compete at home and abroad. £150k p/w for the entire squad is a bit light.

My EL group is: Real Sociedad, AS Monaco, and Dundee United. The quarters should be easy...*sigh*

Player-wise, Anthony Martial is a player that I can see being the Kevin Nolan to my Sam Allardyce. Still young, and hopefully when I move I'll be able to bring him with me. He's been excellent. I signed Marko Futacs and Jason Buaillon in the summer. I can see it now, Futacs and Martial lead Start to European Glory.

Side note: AC Milan ended up winning the Europa League, 3-3 (5-4 PK) against Arsenal.

Do y'all play with any house rules? It's so easy to build up a mid level team in this game.

I try to limit transfer monies I spend to only slightly more than whatever I am able to sell players for as well as the ability of scouts I hire. Even with that I still have built Spurs up pretty high in just 3 seasons.

              Start's European Adventure!

Well we made it through the group stages! Finished with 10 points, Sociedad won the group with 15. A big 2-0 win at home against Monaco really gave us hope that we could pull this off. Stealing a late 1-1 draw in Spain cemented progression to the round of 32, which will see us head to Russia and face Kuban. To stock up for the knockouts, I bought Wil Trapp (Columbus) for £1m in January.

As far as the league, sitting 7 points behind the leaders, with Europe looking good, but not necessarily a title. Also facing Molde in the semifinals of the Braathens Cup.

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

I started my VfL Wolfsburg career again and made serious progress. (BTW I don't play games on this save file I just manage the team, and I didn't know the best young players in the game because this is my first FIFA game and I don't like to have an unfair advantage against the comp so all the players I have acquired were found by my scouts except for one obvious player).

We were given the goal to win the Bundesliga and Champions League (not really likely). We have started off really hot and through 23 games we have - I believe - 59 points and hold first in the league by roughly 11 points. For the Champions League we were placed in Group B with Manchester United and two other clubs that I don't remember. Luckily we were able to draw once with Man U and lose in the other match by one which allowed Wolfsburg to advance. In the first match of the tournament Wolfsburg won 3-0 and will likely face Bundesliga rival Bor. Dortmund.

In the Winter transfer window however I made a mistake. Real Madrid approached to buy Zakaria Bakkali for $60,000,000, I laughed and decided to counter just to see them freak out... they accepted a counter of $100,000,000... This actually occurred on the final day so I was forced to scramble around searching for a suitable replacement. I ended up going back to Real Madrid and purchased Cristiano Ronaldo for $72,000,000 (sure he is 31 at this point but he is still 91ovr and I can get his regen).

Now we look forward to really take over Europe with a lineup that features a 3-1-3-3 formation with Ronaldo, Bruma and Lukaku all as forwards. We also have Paul Pogba in midfield.

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

Start end of season update - 2015/16

Europa League: After advancing to the knockout rounds, Start had a very successful, and surprising, showing in the elimination matches. Kuban were no match for the Norwegians, losing 3-1 at home. The Russians had to chase the game in Norway, but Start parked the bus and everything else in the stadium in front of the goal, settling for a 0-0.
In the round of 16, Start were drawn against perennial power Benfica. After jumping out to a shocking 2-0 lead in Portugal, the hosts pulled both goals back, to end the first leg at 2-2. Those two away goals were enough to see the upstart Norwegian club go through thanks to a 1-1 draw in the North.
Next was another Portuguese opponent, Sporting. Start must've figured out how to play in Portugal, because they took a 1-1 draw back home with them, where they used the loud Norwegian crowd to their advantage, winning 2-1 and earning an extremely shocking place in the semifinals.
All good things must come to an end, and this is where our European adventure concluded, meeting up with Manchester United. start were shellshocked at Old Trafford, losing 3-1, but still held a glimmer of hope with the away goal going back to Norway. Unfortunately, it mattered little, as Start could only muster a 2-2 draw against the Red Devils.
Overall, an extremely successful run, and one that gave our fans a real taste of Europe.

Tippeligaen - Managed a 3rd place finish this season, level on points with 2nd place, and only 2 points behind the winners. Damn Molde do not lose in the league, it's ridiculous. Just when I think a 3-4 match unbeaten run will pull me closer, it does absolutely nothing. I hate Molde.

Braathens Cup - **** Molde. Knocked us out in the semifinal.

I'll be on the hunt for some job offers this Summer, but I'm not holding my breath for anything big yet. Maybe a mid-table Spanish/Italian/German club would be nice, but again, not expecting anything that big. It looks like the Start board are starting to believe in me a little more though, the wage and transfer budget have both increased significantly (£6m and £30k p/w)!

I'm approaching the point in my MM where I lose interest. The point where the majority of players are regens and I don't know who's who anymore. The GTN is a joke and I absolutely loathe it. Ugh.

Well, after being let go from Blackburn, and getting hired in the Belgian League with KAA Gent, I managed to bring them from 9th to 1st in the league at the end of season, as well as win the Belgian Top-Tier Playoff.

I'm a bit frustrated though because the owners told me after that they expected better? Weird. Then they gave me a decent sum of money ... I'm confused and this made me want to jump ship(which i wanted to anyway because the Belgian jerseys are a disaster) but have not found any jobs available yet.

So I finished my third season at VfL Wolfsburg and it was fantastic.

VfL Wolfsburg won the Bundesliga by 3 points over FC Bayern (which only happened because we drew against FC Bayern in the third to last match of the year). Bruma won player of the year and put in roughly 16 goals in Bundesliga play.

The Champions League was the crown jewel though. After we took down our first opponent in the round of 16 we were matched up against Real Madrid, pretty much a death sentence. One 1-1 draw and 2-0 victory later and we advanced past Real Madrid to face Chelsea. We lost game one at Chelsea 2-1 but all I cared about was the away goal because we won the second leg at home with a score of 3-1 to advance on a 4-2 aggregate. In the final game Manchester City was waiting for us, in that final match Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba drilled two late goals to win VfL Wolfsburg's first Champions League title.

Soon after I was approached to manage Germany and accepted seeing as how my manager is a German named Hans Koch. So the whole season was a success.

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

I didn't want to have too long of a post so I broke up last season's finish and the offseason of my 4th year at Wolfsburg.

A lot of interesting things happened. I was forced to sell Maximilian Arnold (an 80ovr 22yr old CAM) for $16,500,000 to Liverpool because he was no longer a part of my plans. I was then approached by Manchester City so that they might purchase Kevin De Bruyne for a sum of $40,000,000. I didn't think De Bruyne was worth that so I countered for $65,000,000 and decided whatever happened was okay because De Bruyne had rejected my last contract offer. Man City matched the offer and signed De Bruyne which left me with no true starting CAM but I noticed on the transfer news that Julian Draxler wanted a move from FC Shalke 04 so I pounced on him and offered $40,000,000 and threw in a 77ovr LM of which they accepted.

Prior to this I was running a formation with just three defenders but since I lost two quality midfielders I decided to go back to four defenders, this meant I needed to acquire a capable starting RB. I ended up transferring $12,500,000 to Lazio for RB Santiago Arias who ended up just being a 78ovr at 25 but it isn't a huge deal because I have a young 19 year old 71ovr stud coming up to replace him. I was then approached by a Serie A team to purchase Mamadou Sakho for $30,000,000 which I had to accept. Using the money from that sell and the left overs after the De Bryune-Draxler affair I went and purchased Raphael Varane for $46,000,000 (I low-balled Real Madrid and they took it ).

So now I am running with a 4-5-1 formation that looks like this:
                            GK Benaglio (82)
RWB Arias (78) RCB Varane (86) LCB Caulker (80) LWB Rodriguez (84)
RM Bruma (84) CM Malanda (84) LM Ronaldo (90)
RAM Draxler (85) LAM Pogba (87)
                            ST Lukaku (86)

Time to prove last season wasn't a fluke for VfL Wolfsburg!

Very good 11. I reached something similar with Alcorcon (spanish 2nd division), but it was game over for me, since I was winning 95% of the games (legendary, manual controls).

Rough month for Sunderland. We sit 14th in the Premiership, with 1 points. Spurs lead the EPL with 8 points.

                                Match 1:
Good, competitive football with the only break in discipline coming of a Ruiz goal in the 26th minute. Other than that, all played well; can't complain.

                                Match 2:
The defense is all there, but the offense can't seem to get anything done. Altidore is slow; Adam Johnson's been marvelous but few others have been.

                                Match 3:
Maoure Chamakh netted both Palace strikes, one on a snapper in the 15th minute and another on a penalty in the 40th. Sunderland's only goal, first of the year, came in the 89th minute on a spectacular shot from Sebastian Larsson.
