Year 1 at Old Trafford. At the december transfer window. Playing on world class (first year playing fifa).

Trailing chelsea by 2 points and tied with man city. Had a bad away tie to cardiff city and an even worse loss to spurs after leading 2-0.

Lost to spurs in the quarters of the cap one cup. Was playing a lot of reserves.

Advanced in the champions league, barely. Real sociedad 10, man u 9, bayern 04 8. Played shaktar and went down 2-0. Sociedad tied with bayern. Got a goal and the in minute 88 i headed a ball with rooney, the goalie tipped it, but it barely floated in the net.

Advanced but we face real madrid.

One thing that bothers me is on the job page it said they had $119M for transfer funds. I get the job and its $8M.

I recall reading about a glitch in which switching teams causes your old budget to carry over to your new team. Might be exclusive to mid-season changes, but not sure about that.

I also took the job last season with USA. I was holding out waiting for them to offer. I turned down a bunch of them waiting for that one. Qualifying for the 2018 WC should start this off season. I've only played a few friendlies with them so far.

I hate to burst your bubble, but there is no qualifying for CONCACAF because most of the national teams aren't in the game. I think you'll only play friendlies and tournaments with the USMNT.

Freaking ManU! ! I have them as opponent for top spot in EPL, FA Cup Final, and you guessed it....Euro Cup final. Ugggh. I am up 1 point in EPL with 3 matches to go, play ManU next. I played FA Cup Final in a classic back and forth match that went to extra time tied 1-1, they got a goal from rooney on a rebound and I got a goal from Dempsey on a corner. End of extra time just seconds away from penalty kicks, ManU on a counter with perfect unbelievable passing, where by defenders decide to act stupid, Van Persie 1 on 1 with Howard, ManU wins. Uggh I took loss but it looked and felt scripted. Now I get to play them 2 more times in current week with EPL and Euro titles on line. Im excited I got team into place to win some, but after ManU has won Capital One and FA cups, looks like they are going to get 4 titles. Wish me luck, I would like to at least 1 out of 2.

Bummer on both of those. Especially the second one. I know not that many Natonal teams are in the game. I just looked and its just Mexico and USA from CONCACAF. How lame. Hopefully in FIFA 15 there all a lot more National teams.

What international tournaments can USMNT compete in? And do they qualify for the WC automatically or are we grouped with random leftover teams?

I know you compete in the South American Cup (Copa America) which is the year after the WC. And there is the Confederations Cup, which is the year before the world cup. But I'm not sure if that is in the game or not.

That would be it. Just WC and SAC I think. Unless the CC is in the game.

Thanks. Seems like American homers are at somewhat of a disadvantage in career mode. MLS sucks and international play is not as good as the Euro options

I need helpp.. I just picked up the game today. Wheen I play a standard exhibition kick off match, it downloads/applies the newest rosters. Yet when I go in to start a career mode the rosters revert to default. Why doesn't it apply the online/newest roster for career?

edit teams > download updates doesn't do anything either. It says there are no updates available even though the squads are all clearly default. Defoe isn't even in MLS. (but he is if I go to a exhibition kick off match)

I am a keen FIFA career mode player, however I have reached a stage where I find it hard to choose a team to start a career mode with... PS I only do European clubs!! Here are some of my ideas:

when you start career mode there should be an option in the settings screen to use either default, updated, or current custom.

At the beginning, I bought Diego Costa and Raphael Varane, and proceeded to win two doubles (EPL and UCL) and one Premier League without the UCL with Chelsea and around 2018 I ended up with a transfer budget of over a BILLION dollars. I didn't ever buy that many players, either, I funded my youth academy and built up my national team.

So after a pretty succesfull World Cup run with Wales taking them to the final 8, i was moved on from my Managers job at Peterborough United after my 2nd season, I probably sold a few too many too quickly and couldn't cover our injuries during the season...overall pretty disappointing as I brought in some great young prospects for the future but the board didn't see my vision and were not satisfied with middle of the pack!.

So my next stop York City!...a low ranked 1 star team in Football League 2, not a great deal to work with here, so far Fletcher has shown promise and Brobbel has been solid...I brought over Adama during the transfer period and have my eye on 21 year old LB Jim Fenlon from AFC Wimberldon and Matthew Leckie a LM from FSV Frankfurt!

Since taking over at Man City I have yet to lose a game. Which is very surprising. All the games are tough, hard fought battles. Three games to go in LP and I am tied for first with Chelsea at 66 points. They have me beat on GD by 9 goals though. So I need them to lose a game in order to claim the title.

I also play them (Chelsea) in the F.A. Cup final coming up. Which I barely got to. I had to escape Liverpool in the semi on PK. They went up 1-0 early and pretty much dominated possession the rest of the half. I then got the equalizer in the 92nd minute. Ended up beating them 4-2 on PK.

I will have to fight to get points in these last three games too. I have a lot of injuries right now. My top two strikers (Jovetic and Negrado) are both out with ankle issues. Hart is out with broken ribs. And Silva and Toure are both our also. Going to be ugly.

Well, I lost to Chelsea in the F.A. Cup final 3-2. Great game. And I finished in second behind them in LP. The won out and I finished with a win and two draws. That loss to them in the cup final was the only one I had with Man City since I took over at the end of December. Figured I would get fired for not winning, but the board seemed happy enough. I have a lot on my plate this next season. And a lot of older players who tire easily, and not a lot of good younger backup talent for all the cup games. Going to have to try and bring in some good younger guys this off season to flesh out the roster if. Otherwise I will get fired. They want me to win both cups and euros and the league. Not possible.
