Nope. The board resets it at the start of the new season. They will determine what you start with based on your goals and how much extra money the team made.

I found that once I upped to 10 minute halves that the CPU played more realistically on higher difficulties

Try ferrets or orions on 10 min halfs, on world class, challenging. Realize for whatever reason there is always going to be a FIFA game against AI that will feel and seem unrealistic, where they are unstoppable and score goals at will. I always save before every match just in case, and replay if necessary, always with a more realistic result, win or lose. This super AI only happens once in a while, you will know what I mean when you have played all the matches I have in manager mode. This is even when my team is at full energy and all in good form (arrows up). Ex. Playing in round of 16 of FA cup against Stoke ( im Everton in year 3), super AI match, they are up 4-0 at half!!! Crazy unstoppable passing and shots. Restart match, great match, realistic throughout, I end up losing 2-1.

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

As my second year as Manager is winding down with 9 games to go and sitting dead last most of the season, Peterbourough United have managed to crawl out of the relegation places. Although for some reason all my players Morale just suddenly dropped even tho we have been winning games lately?

My roster is starting to take shape with 17 year Gedion Zelalem coming along well, and adding some key pieces at the January transfer window with a very nice addition Marvin Ducksh who has really taken on the CM position well,I also picked up a young RB Michael Duckworth from League 2 team Hartlepool United but i had to throw in Nicky Ajose as part of the deal. I sold off 28 year old starting goalkeeper at the start of the season for $550,000 to open some room up for Blackman, and at the January transfer window I sold Josh McQuid to Leicester City for $1,200,000 ,Danny Swanson too Millwall for $425,000 and Knight Percival also too Millwall for $365,000

As it stands with 9 games to I'm quite concerned about my job safety as the board set the goal of finishing mid table....

A few games into the second season at Tottenham. Made a few off season moves to bring back Clint Dempsey (favorite player) also brought in Draxler to give me more depth in the middle and Thiego Silva to fix my back line issues.
Became coach of the USA international team after rejecting many offers, deciding to hold out for USA.

Finished 3rd in season 1 and am currently in 4th place only 5 games into season 2.

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

Now that I am playing on the other system (long story) I had to start over.

Started fresh in a new league I've never played in before. The Swiss Super League or Raiffeisen Super League! I picked one of the 2 one star teams, FC Aarau. They had the higher transfer budget by 100,000 and the weaker of the two squads. There are only 10 teams in the league. So I play the other 9 teams 4 times!

The roster was very tiny. Only two guys on the reserves. I ended up transferring in a CB (can't remember his name now) from Wolverhampton at 63 rating. Hes 20, and only paid $200,000 for him. Second highest rated CB on the team now.

Also signed some free agents rather than try to go after transfers. Signed my man (I usually sign him on smaller teams) Mitch Pecnik for $10k a week. Pecnik is a CAM rated 67 at the age of 28. Also signed an 18 year old CM Karl Caboro who came in rated 63 for $2k a week. And a ST rated 69, but can't remember his name either right now. I found him by mistake. Also for $10k a week. I'd never seen him on the free agent list before.

And that was all my money gone. So didn't start a youth program yet. After my signing the squad went from a 1 star to a 2.5 star team.

I played only three games. Won the first 2-0. And drew the next two 1-1 and 0-0. Sitting in fifth currently.

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

I was doing okay with FC Aarau. On April 1st, 2014 we were in 6th (out of 10), at 8-11-8. I then got an email offering me the job at Bournemouth. They were in 21st, one spot out of relegation, sitting at 8-6-24 with 8 games to go. I had not received a National team offer all year with Aarau. And I hadn't done much with the roster. So I took the Bournemouth job.

I simmed the remaining 8 games. Mostly because I was hoping we would lose them all and get relegated to league 1. So I could rebuild from their. Which we did. We lost all 8 and got bumped down.

Ended up bringing in ST Alex Nimley from Man City, CAM Gauld from Dundee United. And a CB from Aarau, Albizua. Also before taking the job, I released my two youth stars that I just signed. They are free agents. But they wont talk to me. I can't approach them to sign them. I probably should have just left them and made transfer offers, lol.

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

Parenting and home ownership interrupted the managerial career of Vincenzo di Stefano for much of the spring, and only this week did I pick it back up (last save date was 6/13). It's too bad, as I was really enjoying it, had a dynasty thread going and thought maybe I could get at least a few seasons in before 15. But I guess a new baby and several home projects are more important.

As a result, I'm still in year one with Genoa in Serie A, hovering in mid table in early April, usually between 10-12th depending on my last result. That's my objective, so as long as I don't completely crap the bed in my final five games, I should be good. I think a Euro League place is out of reach even if I run the table, as there are too many teams - including Roma & Fiorentina - clumped a few points ahead of me to climb over. Not to mention I really haven't strung wins together all year; it's mostly win one, lose one, with a few draws sprinkled in.

I did manage a nice domestic cup run to the semifinals where I fell to Inter Milan 1-0 on aggregate. We drew 0-0 in Genoa, before falling 1-0 in the decisive away leg; very tense game and I certainly had my chances to equalize but dodgy finishing - the story of the season, really - undid me in the end. But I was very pleased to make it that far, especially since I gambled on reaching the semis to get more transfer funds in January and I had to beat Napoli & Fiorentina to get there.

I accepted the Mexican NT job in February, so I have an eye towards the World Cup as I finish my club season. The squad fits my preferred 3-4-3/3-5-2 systems well and I have some nice attacking talent to work with. As for Genoa, I have few transfer targets in mind for the summer, and Miroslav Stoch is arriving on a free. I'm going to add a couple Ghanaians to my youth academy before the May 1 update. One looks like he might be high a potential CM, while the other appears to be a 6-6 defender, so why not. I have maybe 5 Italians in there now, with a special looking left-footed 6-3 defender headlining. I might promote him for next season to start working him in on the left side of my 3-man backline.

I haven't ruled out accepting another job in the summer, but I'm leaning towards staying. In typical Italian fashion, a big chunk of my squad was either loaned in or out, so it will be like having a new team anyway. I already added four players in January - CB Kostas Manolas, CAM Hikem Ziyech, and RW Quincey Promes, and ST Michael Frey - but there's a lot more work to do to fill out the squad, let alone add talent. One troubling factor is the disappearance of club skipper Alberto Gilardino's scoring touch. He was among the league leaders in goals for the first half of the season, but had a lengthy drought (13 games maybe?) from January thru March. His ratings aren't declining yet, but I get the feeling I might want to cash in while I can. I had some decent offers in January when his form was still up, but lacked a viable replacement after Frey came in at a much lower OVR than I anticipated (lousy GTN scout!).

But who knows, maybe meeting my objectives and a good World Cup will land me an attractive offer elsewhere...
