Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*
I am having a hell of a time with the lower teams. I just beat Arsenal and Liverpool back to back. Then I go to The Hawthorns and need an 87th minute goal to draw against West Brom. I guess I can't be too disappointed at a draw on the road. But it was kind of a letdown after those two huge wins to get me into 4th place.
Oh, Jan Vertonghen just got back from a 4 month knee injury, and two games later he injures his shoulder, out 8 weeks. Then Adebayor injured his ankle, out 3 months.
Generally speaking, I've been pretty healthy, but my best CB has had two long term injuries (He's going end up playing in like 12 matches this year, tops), and now my main striker is out for the rest of the year.

Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*
Did you say young Center Back's ..... Take a look at Matthias Ginter 78 overall 20 years of age and around 7.5mil $
Its a chuck of cash but thats a 20 year old that can slot right in and start in the opening 11 from day one. You also wont have him called up to his national team for a while yet.
I must say i dont mind that we now have to take into account absent international players. Pitfalls of doing well in MM, you end up loosing half your starting lineup for internationals
Aren't there international breaks where you don't play for a couple of weeks?Comment

Transfer Window Review/August Review
August started off with the Community Shield against Manchester City followed by 3 Premier League games against Crystal Palace, Everton and Leicester City.
Community Shield
Arsenal 1-1 Manchester City (5-3 on penalties)
25' Welbeck
40' Nasri
Playing our first competitive game of the season against Manchester CIty was never going to be easy but Danny Welbeck's 25th minute goal on his debut calmed the nerves however Samir Nasri would equalize just 5 minutes from the break, the second half saw no goals so off to the dreaded penalty shoot-out we went, Szczesny saved Zabaleta's penalty to give us a 5-3 win in the shoot-out and along with it the Community Shield.
Man Of The Match: Wojciech Szczesny
Barclays Premier League
Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace
37' Ramsey
63' Sanchez
Our first BPL game of the season was at The Emirates against Palace, the scoreline didn't tell the whole story as Palace were stubborn at the back and it took a goalkeeping error in the 37th minute for Aaron Ramssy to net his first of the season and Alexis Sanchez's goal on his debut in the 63rd gave us the 2 goal cushion, the game also gave William Carvalho and Mathieu Debuchy official debuts.
Man Of The Match: Wojciech Sczcesny
Barclays Premier League
Everton 0-1 Arsenal
82' Cavalho
Our first away game was as tough as it gets, a trip to Goodison Park, we looked good until the 39th minute when Per Mertesacker had to be replaced by debutant Fabian Schar after spraining his ankle, the injury saw the German sidelined for 4 weeks, in the second half a silly tackle on Danny Welbeck from Phil Jagielka in the 64th minute produced a red card for the Englishman and with the 1 man advantage in the 82nd minute William Carvalho scored his first goal for the club and the game finished 1-0 to the Arsenal.
Man Of The Match: Danny Welbeck
Barclays Premier League
Leicester City 1-2 Arsenal
32' 90' Welbeck
61' Ulloa
The final game of August was an away game against the foxes, we looked bright early on and after 31 minutes Danny Welbeck slotted the ball away to give us a 1-0 lead at the break but 15 minutes into the second half Ulloa scored to level the game, we looked set for a draw but a late 90th minute Danny Welbeck goal gave him 3 goals in 3 games and us the 3 points.
Man Of The Match: Danny Welbeck
PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Danny Welbeck
Transfers
In
Adrien Rabiot - PSG - $7,000,000
Matija Nastasic - Manchester City - $10,000,000
Heung Min Son - Bayer Leverkusen - $15,000,000 + Lukas Podolski
Danny Ings - Burnley - $4,600,000
Fabian Schar - FC Basel - $8,000,000
William Carvalho - Sporting Portugal - 21,000,000
Out
Tomas Rosicky - FC Bayern Munich - $10,000,000
Chuba Akpom - Sheffield United - Loan
Josh Vickers - Stevenage - Loan
Mikel Arteta - Manchester City - $9,000,000
Transfer Summary:
We were busy in the market but all the signings were young players to grow and replace our older players, we desperately need a couple of CB's, Nastasic was an obvious option and I've heard good things about Fabian Schar, a strong CDM was needed too, so in a quite pricey transfer we picked up William Carvalho, Arteta and Rosicky were both ageing and I was quite happy with roughly 10 million for both.
August Summary:
With 4 games and 4 wins I can't complain, we sit at the top of the table and look strong, next month we have Oxford United in the Capital One Cup, Manchester City, Aston Villa and the North London derby against Spurs in the league and Galatasaray and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.Comment

Yeah i like Podolski but he's rated 77 and not getting any better and Son is a really fun player to play with and i've never used him in a Career ModeComment

Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*
Seeing as how I got fired in my first year with Southampton despite finishing 8th and wining the FA Cup, I'm going to consider this career mode a test and re-start with a more reasonable board objective of mid-table finish. That being said, I'm to going to finish up this series' video updates culminating in a hugely dramatic FA Cup Final against Arsenal. Honestly it was the most exciting, ridiculous game I have ever played. So here are the two most recent episodes leading into the FA Cup Final.

Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*
I'm debating between two teams...
Eintracht Frankfurt(My usual team I do for FIFA since I took them over in FM11) and take down the evil Bayern Munich empire(And Dortmund too)
Philadelphia Union(Never did a full MLS career, but being from Philly this seems like a sound choice. Go from MLS to EPL from a manager standpoint)Last edited by Nickflyers; 09-26-2014, 10:15 AM.Comment

Yeah I don't know what he meant there either, in my experience with FIFA playing as BPL teams I've never had a game scheduled while players were off on international duty. I've had Rooney come back injured right before a Manchester derby and been pissed off but hey that's the risk you take.Comment

Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*
That could be an option but in mine, during the game, some weeks a player will have a little Plane logo come next to his name and he cant be selected for the team that week, I tried and it said i need to sub him out. Im Leyton Orient in League 1 so that may be a reason.Last edited by Kickass_Koala; 09-26-2014, 11:40 AM.Comment
