Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*

Iv'e been getting some great matches on pro without touching the sliders just yet...probably an indication of my lack of skill, but I am enjoying it!...

I got my 2 manager modes started off this afternoon, One with Everton and another with Peterborough, I plan on playing every game and just see how far i can get.

With Everton having some nice transfer funds, i plan on buying a young promising GK to eventually replace Howard, I think i located one in the GTN from Manchester United who was around 23 with good stats...We are also in serious need of some younger CB with Distin, Barry, Jagielka all being 32 or older.
I really like the size and strength of Romelu Lukaku but I might need to have a look at changing formation to get Eto'o involved a bit more and Ross Barkley being out injured is allowing Naismith to shine!

Peterborough is a tough project, sold of alot of there quality players and didn't leave the list in good shape. basically a total overhaul needed here, and with a pretty average transfer budget
    Spoiler
I may have to rely on loans and pre-contracts. Got smacked in the first friendly against a much stronger opponent Club Brugge 5-0. Not a great start!

started my Milan one last night and played 4 games (only 4 SOA was on). results were D/L/D/W, four opponents were lazio, parma, juve and empoli. empoli got a red card penalty in the 20th minute so i easily discarded them, the penalty was a really bad call on replay he clearly got the ball first. we lack some serious goal scoring options up front, winter window cant get here soon enough so i can offload dead weight and pick up fresh talent. kind of confused as to why EA didn't include 16yr old wonder kid hachim mastour on the squad. hes listed with the first team but hasn't actually been called up for a match. cant wait to get home and continue but first work then cheer practice

Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*

Started one with Man U the board wanted me to win the league and the domestic cup.... was worried i would get fired if I didn't do this and I plan on rebuilding a bit so I went back and changed the team sheet to a weaker side and started over, now it's Qualify for Europe and make it to the Quarter Finals of the cup, much better.

I always turn the first window off so I spent my money on 3 good youth scouts and sent them searching for defensive help in England(fools errand I know) and some technically gifted players in Germany/Spain. Started the GTN scouts looking for defenders, already shortlisted Hummels, Howeides and Seamus Coleman plan on taking a run at 1 or 2 of them in January's window.

I'm using the current diamond midfield Van Gaal employs, when I loaded the first match against Swansea I was still in awe even after playing the demo at how great the presentation is. Anyway, Swansea had a booking 5 minutes in on a really stupid challenge. I was able to take the lead through a Van Persie header on a Di Maria cross after 12 minutes. Then the unthinkable, the same Swansea player made yet another insanely stupid challenge, RED! unbelievable, first game of '15 and I have 2 bookings against the CPU. Anyway I was able to score another late in the half with Falcao this time. Second half I did what United in real life can't, I killed the game, ended 2-0.

Second game away to Sunderland was played in pouring rain which lead to some dreadful defending miscues. I was able to go up 1-0 on a Rooney goal around the 20' mark. Sunderland didn't like this much and put the pressure on right away, De Gea was forced into a save, the rebound bounced to Rafael for an easy clearance, except her scuffed it and fell! ball landed right to a Sunderland player for an easy equalizer. before the half Sunderland pressing again, Jones goes in for a tackle and completely mistimes it in the box. Sunderland go up 2-1 on the penalty. Second half we traded goals, but too little too late, 3-2 loss for my Man U. I desperately need width, going to tweak the formation for next game maybe go diamond wide.

Love this game, can't wait to go home as I have Burnley away and Wimbledon away in the Capitol One Cup up next!

Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*

Just finished my first season with Spurs on World Class, 5-minute halves.

I ended up winning the league in the last minute of the last game. Emmanuel Adebayor, who had fallen out of favor about 10 games into the season, entered the game in the 80th minute and scored his first goal of the Premier League season to clinch the title for Tottenham.

Roberto Soldado, whom became my No. 1 striker thanks to Ade's poor performances, won the golden boot with 23 EPL goals.

Hugo Lloris, my goalkeeper, won the GK of the Year award, leading the league with 17 clean sheets.

I started the season with transfer window turned off to try to keep things realistic for the first half of the season. In January, I ended up signing Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez from Southhampton. I also sold Capoue and Dembele, capitalizing on their worth but sacrificing depth. Gary Cahill and Rasmus Elm will join me on free transfers.

Capital One Cup champion: Tottenham (beat Arsenal, 3-1)
FA Cup champion: Arsenal (Gunners beat me in semis, 4-0)
Champions League champion: Bayern Munich (beat Real Madrid, 2-1)
Euro League champion: PSG (I lost in round of 32 to Roma, 4-0)

Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool will join me in Champions League. Everton, Chelsea and Stoke (via FA cup runner up) will compete in Euro.

Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Burnley are relegated.

            Some thoughts:

I really enjoy the game, but as others have said, WC is a pain -- I won the league with only 75 points, which would have put me fifth in the 2013-14 season. Odd.

CPU's passing is out of this world. I increased the passing error after Arsenal whooped me in January, 5-1, with a 95 percent completion rate. Moved it to 60, which keeps it in the 70s for bad teams and low 80s for good teams.

I scored just one goal off a corner all season, and probably had less than 10 shots from corners all season. Very difficult.

I think I reached double-digit shot attempts twice in all competitions, one of them was against 10-man Crystal Palace.

Overall: I'm very pleased with the game, but would have liked to see some more scoring attempts across the board. I finished with 58 goals for, 36 against. Man U had a league-high 60 goals, which would have been seventh in 2013-14.

Man I was enjoying the hell out of my Real Madrid MM, but in the end of the winter transfer window, Ronaldo ruined it by wanting to leave and then the board took care of that selling him to Man City. After that it got pretty weird just didn't feel right I got Reus and Augero but the experience was sorta killed and so was the teams performance. It is to note Ronaldo did ask for a raise in weekly wages but I didn't really think he was that that serious about it, well clearly he was.

Anyone else have trouble keeping Ronaldo?

I'm playing a version of the 3-4-3, and aside from getting Benteke as a backup striker I have no idea what else to add to this team because the lineup and bench is so good.

In the next day or two I plan to start a career in the Dynasty section with Newport County to try building them from League 2 to the Premier League. I'll do a financial takeover (so it's like I'm wealthy and bought the team) to get 3 good scouts and start trying to get young American players like John Brooks (and Julian Green after the loan is over) to build around.
Funny. I'm rolling with Newport County while i work on sliders.

That seems to be gone now. I haven't seen a single hand ball called in the box, and only a couple outside of the box. Part of that is probably due to players holding their hands behind their backs much of the time while defending in the box now, and I've also seen fewer instances of players jumping up with both hands over their heads like they used to.

Gonna start a manager career mode with 1860 Munich. Looking for to it because they overhauled the roster so now we have younger players in with veterans. Still deciding whether i should play for promotion or build up my younger players.

Playing with Everton in my second season game, I just got done by Arsenal in the 90th minute 3-2...off to a slow start. Big Rom to miss next game against Chelsea with a minor injury!

gonna start with a pretty poor club in Sweden, Halmstad, then see how far i can go as a manager.
one thing i would wish for is the ability to resign from my club when i get a national team offer...
